Get Ready for another Housing crash thanks to Democrats

I don't "Google" anything. And what I'm talking about is absolutely correct.

I don't get "talking points" in my inbox, unlike some other people around here.

See if you can follow this logic here. (I'm playing Devil's Advocate)

Poster A claims Carter started bla bla bla

Poster B then pipes up and says "No he did not!" and then goes on to support his claim by posting something that involves dates from 1995-onward only.

Can you see where the problem is here? Or no?

He can't see past his own anger and illiteracy. Remember this is LV246 we are talking about.

The Community Reinvestment Act is all well and good, but Clinton allowing Glass-Steagall to go may have been the death knell to the American economy.
Nothing positive has been done about it yet.

There is nothing good about the CRA. Why do you think the fascism caused by the Glass-Steagall act was a good thing?

The first subprime loan was in 1991.

Who was President in 1991?

And the share of subprimes of all mortgages during the 90's remained constant...it never eclipsed 10% of all mortgages until 2004. By 2006, 40% of all mortgages were subprime.

That's not Carter or Clinton...it's all Bush the Dumber and Conservatism.

Clinton actually put a HUD rule in place to PREVENT GSE's from buying risky subprime loans.

Bush reversed that rule, of course.

Tribalism. Trolling.

You're here arguing it, so you're going to have to answer for it.

If you're trying to blame Clinton and Carter for Bush's mortgage meltdown, then it's obvious you're a partisan hack who is trying to make his governing ideology look better.

Bush created a subprime mortgage bubble out of thin air, and then proceeded to tie that bubble to his tax cut policies.

So that's why I say the Bush Tax Cuts are responsible for the Subprime Mortgage collapse because Bush the Dumber tied them together.

No. Carter did. Denial of history. Trolling.

It proves that Clinton fucked it up, and Bush built on Clinton's fuckup and fucked it up worse.

I suppose you'll deny that.

Why? Because you're a partisan shill idiot.

You have no idea how far out in right field you are. The only person who crossed the admins was Greenspan, who does bear some responsibility. But the crash was a banking problem. Politicians on both side were convinced of voo doo economics and bankers spin.

Then why don't you start? Why are you repeating lies?

What specific action or actions did Clinton take to "set it up" for Bush the Dumber to fail?

That's like blaming the manufacturer of the matches for the fire the dumb, paste-eating simpleton started.

Void argument fallacy. RQAA. Insult fallacies. Trolling.

That's where you're wrong. I just know history. Especially history I've lived, k?

I do not argue with the bolded.

" The seeds of the mortgage meltdown were planted during Bill Clinton’s presidency.

Under Clinton’s Housing and Urban Development (HUD) secretary, Andrew Cuomo, Community Reinvestment Act regulators gave banks higher ratings for home loans made in “credit-deprived” areas. Banks were effectively rewarded for throwing out sound underwriting standards and writing loans to those who were at high risk of defaulting. If banks didn’t comply with these rules, regulators reined in their ability to expand lending and deposits.

These new HUD rules lowered down payments from the traditional 20 percent to 3 percent by 1995 and zero down-payments by 2000. What’s more, in the Clinton push to issue home loans to lower income borrowers, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac made a common practice to virtually end credit documentation, low credit scores were disregarded, and income and job history was also thrown aside. The phrase “subprime” became commonplace. What an understatement.

What say you now, dipshit?

That article is a decent read, btw.

I already knew all this, though, and that it wasn't Carter's fault. You're just a dumbass bile-filled shill. :)

However, you still have failed to prove that it wasn't Carter's fault. Would you like me to do that for you as well?

Sorry, I'm not going to prove your claims for you. I don't like you. :tongout:

Please reference the Housing and Community Development Act, passed under Carter in 1977.

Stop stealing my lines.

Special pleading fallacy. Cherry picking fallacy.

Actually, Carter fucked it up, Clinton fucked it up more, and Bush Jr fucked it up worse.
Reagan did remove some of Carter's damage, but Bush Sr. never touched it.
