Thanks. My wife has been a big influence.

I love facts and strive to maintain my integrity and honor. Part of the Bushido Code, doncha know. :)

OK...done...and? LBJ didn't attempt to thwart history, did he? The CRA and VRA were both his bills.

Are you claiming the Republicans hold a monopoly on racism in American, evince?

"Republican"/"Democrat" are just the party labels...Conservatism holds the monopoly on racism in America.

The Klan weren't liberals, neither were the Birchers, neither were the teabags, and neither are the MAGAts.

Conservatism is rooted in racism, and it's always been rooted in racism...it hops between the parties, depending on whichever has decided to be the Conservative party at the time.

Buckley even told you in as many words that Conservatives are race-based reactionaries!

Sure, the Republicans are worst, but don't use that as an excuse to be blind to racism, misogyny and bigotry in the Democratic Party.

Of course the Democratic Party has racist history to it, it was once filled with Southern, religious, Conservative whites.

But invoking that past today is just as irrelevant as invoking the fact that the Dodgers used to play in Brooklyn, yet the raised the 2020 WS pennant in Los Angeles.

Now play the LBJ racist tape. LOL

Yes, even the first Republican President was a fucking racist. Same goes for LBJ. OTOH, Harry S Truman seemed a lot more enlightened than the Democrats before him and after.**

Are you claiming the Republicans hold a monopoly on racism in American, evince? I'd agree with a majority of the racism, maybe even 75%, being on the Republican side but I'd have to see the numbers first. :)

Racism, bigotry, discrimination for genetic reasons and hatred are bad. Wrong. Neither party is virtuous when it comes to any of them. Sure, the Republicans are worst, but don't use that as an excuse to be blind to racism, misogyny and bigotry in the Democratic Party.

**I was a military brat going to desegregated DOD schools throughout the 60s. The riots and protests on television didn't make sense to me since there were kids and parents of different races on my block and in my school. We played together just like any other kids. It was normal for us. What I saw on television wasn't normal.

I never much liked LBJ

I don’t think he did the good the good things he did out of morality

He did it because the party was going that way

MY BELOVED PARTY DID IT

Wrong.

Lee Atwater was only 4 years old in 1955.

In the mission statement for the National Review, which was printed in 1955, Buckley wrote that "Conservatism stands athwart history, yelling stop!"...and had you done that research, you would have known that.

The second racist quote, LV, the one I'd bolded not the one you bolded. It said so in the link you provided. Didn't you notice?

Did that not make sense to you that I bolded a certain section of your post and then made a specific repy?

OTOH, we can bet on who said it if you like. Your choice. :)
Really?

"Conservatism stands athwart history, yelling STOP!" - wrote William F. Buckley in 1955, Godfather of Conservatism, less than six months after Brown v. Board of Education.

So...yelling STOP to...desegregation. Now, why would a non-racist oppose desegregation and call for it to STOP if they weren't racist or bigoted?

I'm more than happy to see examples of Conservative legislation or "thought" leaders speaking differently from what Lee Atwater (one of Buckley's proteges) said in 1981:

You start out in 1954 by saying, “N*****, n*****, n*****.” By 1968 you can’t say “n*****”—that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, forced busing, states’ rights, and all that stuff, and you’re getting so abstract. Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.… “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “N*****, n*****”

Oh and yes it was normal

Your berg was dead exceptional

MAYBE

Or the racism was subtle enough to fool the children

I was ten in 1967

My mom was a Republican

I remember the marches on TV

I remember asking her why they were beating those people

She said it was wrong and should stop

Then she voted for Goldwater

Get it dude

Because you defend their past evils

And still buy their lies about gun laws

The second racist quote, LV, the one I'd bolded not the one you bolded

Dutch...they're BOTH racist quotes.

The Buckley quote is racist because he wrote that in reaction to desegregation.

What do you think Buckley was screaming "STOP" to in 1955?

What was going on in the country in 1955 that reactionaries wanted to stop?

Why did the Republican Party react to the Kerner commission report on racism the way they did Dutch?

If you face this fact

You will hate the Republican Party and Reagan as much as I do

Reagan race baited and cheated in elections

He then did shitty things and lied about it

He was no hero

When I watched those black people marching

I was watching republicans marching

Then a couple of years later

The ones who were still alive were all Democrats

When I registered for the first time

I registered as a Democratic Party member

Despite the denials of the delusional, clearly the Republican Party, at best, is having severe problems. At worst, We, the People are seeing the fall of the Republican Party.
In Woodward's book,

2022 and 2024 are going to be harsh on leftist hacks like you snowflake. The overreaching Party of the Jackass is heading for an ass kicking.

As for Bob Woodward, his lie filled BS would be something only mindless, low IQ fools like you would buy into. But hey, with schmucks like you, he's laughing all the way to the bank.

My first election was 1996, and in the 25 years I've been voting, I've never once voted for a Republican.

Never.

If a Republican runs unopposed, I either don't vote in that race, or write a name in.

I cannot, will not in good conscience ever cast a vote for the party of Nazis, Klansmen, Antisemites, racists, homophobes, and bigots.

As long as they keep putting up whackadoodles and mini trumps , Americas middle will shun them

 Another, race hustling, leftist dumbass whose going to be shocked in 2022 and 2024. [/size]

His racism continues today. Just the faces are different. Different skin-tones and genders too. Progress. LOL

The Republican Party benefits from its principle paradigm.

A handful of well educated but morally deficient oligarchs know all the right buttons to press
in order to get many, many uneducated and unsophisticated sycophants to do the former's bidding in direct conflict with the latter's best interests.

As long as the most stupid Americans continue to breed, the GOP will be just fine.
That's why I wish that the states in which they politically prevail were part of a different nation from mine.

:eyeroll:

I don't know what will happen, but it is clear to me the Republicans have been flirting with disaster.

 Clueless fake attorney doesn't think trying to ram $5 trillion additional spending down everyone's throat through partisan shenanigan's is flirting with disaster. 2022 and 2024 are going to be harsh on your clueless twits.
