Weak Sanctions Will Not Stop Anything, Brandon

They were not much of a deterrent to begin with. However... yeah, that was poorly worded. The sanctions should have fallen heavily and immediately when they crossed the border of a different sovereign nation that we said not to or you will get sanctions....

Do not threaten sanctions you are afraid to use after they do what you said they should not because you think that weak sanctions on the sovereign territory of the annexed sections of the nation invaded will be the "threat" that does it.

President Biden has limited options after Trump weakened our position with NATO and “slow walked” desperately needed Ukraine aid. We can harm Russia in the years to come, put pressure on them but the truth is… short of boots on the ground, Russia is going to take what it wants. Stronger policy with Russia over the past years might have changed things.

ah, so you're saying Biden should be ignoring the situation

love to see what load of shit you'd have for us then

fact is, when anyone criticizes anything they are irrelevant until they propose an alternative

which you clearly cannot

He was going to attack Biden no matter what happened.

I want Putin to lose, don't get me wrong. And I don't believe that everything Brandon is doing is wrong, as I stated before thankfully he's keeping troops away from there... and that is good.

IMHO acting weakly and not following up on threats is not the way to make sure that Putin loses, it simply will make us look weak when Putin doesn't care.

I'm pretty sure that saying we should stay out of it is proposing an alternative. It's not too late for bungling Brandon to shut his pie-hole and slink back to his basement for some of "Doctor" Jill's ice cream treats, is it?

If this is the truth, speaking loudly and threatening with wet noodles is not the way to act. Since no US Interests lie in the Ukraine it would have been better for the US to simply allow Europe to handle this without non-threatening US led non-sanctions.

Yeah, unfortunately it is too late to simply let folks handle their own problems. They set the US as the protagonist on this stage the moment they started threatening "strong sanctions" that will "hurt"... Now we can only sit back and watch and hope that Brandon's team of handlers can function well enough to make it look like the US didn't lose in this exchange.

Again, the alternative would have been not to wade into this swamp to begin with. Take action when US interests are in play, let Europe handle European interests.

What US interest is in play in the Ukraine?

Seriously? So doing nothing would’ve been less weak? If Biden had done nothing, you’d be out here screaming about how weak he was to just let Russia take Ukraine.

Yes, not threatening to begin with would not make us look weak. Threatening and then not taking the threatened action will make the US look weak. Let Europe act on European interests and act strongly when US interests are in play that is a positive foreign policy. It is not positive to begin acting all the time regardless of US interests, flailing, and threatening things you will do anything or say anything to avoid acting on.

There are lots of US interests in Ukraine valuable ore and minerals necessary for lithium battery production for one.

The irony is rich.

What actions did President Biden threaten that he has not taken? Some take time.

We're not "flailing." My goodness.

This is the proper course. We shouldn't commit our military, but we DO have interests AND allies at play here. Pursuing tough sanctions and holding those out there for Putin's consideration is absolutely the right course, and nothing short of actual military action is stronger.

It's okay to give Biden credit once in awhile. I mean, Fox had the "weak leader" narrative ready to go no matter what course we took - no action, sanctions, the works.

Personally, I believe in the long run Vladimir Putin will wish he had not gone into Ukraine, but if Trump gets himself reelected in three years it will have paid off because any and all sanctions will rapidly be removed.

Damocles is a well known Trump-worshipper and Putin-cock sucker.

Trump consistently opposed sanctions on Russia, and only had to grudgingly sign off on them when they had overwhelming, bipartisan, veto proof support in Congress.

Translation, Trump was a strong leader that made Russia feel uneasy with any type of aggression, with Biden no country is worried about retaliation.
