70% Of Americans Think Taxes Will Go Up By End Of Obama's Term

Onceler a tax credit is a handout, not a tax cut. This is about credit vs. cut, not "is" vs. is.

It's semantics. Is the individual tax bill being reduced? Yes.

USAToday called it a tax cut. So did everyone else. Here's one righties can't even dispute:

Like I said, it doesn't matter. The pledge stands. Americans under $250K will either stay at the same level, or be paying LESS taxes under Obama.

If he breaks that pledge, then he deserves the negative consequences of that.

Here is a comprehensive look at what he promised:

http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/taxes/Factsheet_Tax_Plan_FINAL.pdf

He would only repeal those parts of the Bush cuts that apply to the $250K + bracket.

There are plenty of other statements out there; his pledge is definitely to the $250K & less group, not to raise their taxes at all, either proactively or by letting the Bush cuts lapse.
Exactly what I have been saying, if he does not get them to continue those portions that are for those less than 250K it would go badly for the Ds. If they ignore this to pass some unpopular health reform as well it will go very badly for the Ds.

He repeatedly made this pledge. This would very definitely be a "read my lips" moment.

Maybe you can explain to me how giving someone who doesn't make enough money to pay income taxes $8 per week is a tax cut?

so doing away with corporate tax credits is not a tax increase?

Perhaps I should look back thru posts on here about that?

But in any case it is good to see you now agree with what I have been saying all along.

There is hope for you yet.

I don't mind paying more, but I am one of those strange ducks that wants my children and grandchildren to have a good future!

And whats preventing you from paying more ?

Nothing ?.....thats what I conclude too....

or maybe you just a ordinary liberal hypocrite....

Oh...are those the only individuals to which it applies?

I'm tired of getting pulled into your stupid. That'll do...

Withholding taxes from the under-employed amounts to the highest proportion of tax to wages than any other group, add to that the fact that it also is a far higher proportion of their spendable income, thus a health/education problem as well. Not many in that category receive healthcare benefits while others that get it free aren't taxed for it. Let's not forget also that their jobs and wages have been and are the most threatened by Globalization, code for wealth redistribution. 'harmonization' is the word they use to describe balancing US wages with other poorer country's wages. Then add the fact that they have the least available to make their voices heard so it's an easy game to dismiss them and their needs.
Where are the cries for budget cuts by simply getting out of the Middle East where we've already failed? As of June, 2009 the cost of the Iraq war amounted to $830 billion(GAO) over and above the DoD budget of over $4 trillion in the same period of time and already a farce(e.g. F22 etc.).
$18 billion Medicare Advantage dollars annually go to private insurers for plans already being rejected by healhcare providers, Medicare pays billions more than necessary in a boondoggle for prescription drugs because they are restricted from negotiating for lower prices by laws protecting the pharma industry, etc, etc, etc.. Forget pork/earmarks, waste in the law, is more costly by far. How many RWers would go for these types of cuts, particularly if certain corporations were affected negatively in the bottom line by adding to their responsibilities to customers, employees, and country?
There's probably plenty there for healthcare, a balanced budget AND tax cuts, however it still leaves the War unpaid for. Tax cuts aren't a zero-sum game as some former presidents and their economic advisors would have liked us to believe.

If there's anything we can glean from this healthcare debate, it's that most of the conservatives on this site are clinically retarded and happy living in ignorance. In fact, they go out of their way to make it happen.

I suggest you repeat that into the microphone at any Town Hall audience. LOL

I think most people would also believe that we could eliminate all of the waste in DC and come up with better plans that actually REDUCE costs. That INCREASE efficiency. Etc...

edit...Sorry Mott... looks like wacko already posted something similar... no need to readdress...

In a way reducing waste caused this recession.
This recession was mainly caused by the unsustainability of waste and excess.
