That wasn't my intention. I was praising the Ukrainians (this was a couple of weeks ago) for letting captured Russians use their cell phones to call home. There was video of them shown on TV and the web. Cypress pointed out that even a benign video like that could possibly violate the Geneva Conventions against using POWs as propaganda.

That's a good point. Taking videos of them crying to their mommy for propaganda purposes would do it.

Whereas this is much different...allowing soldiers to call home...no captured soldier is supposed to be 'exploited' for propaganda. So you can't force them to read a script that denounces their govt., etc..

I hadn't gotten that far when I responded. I don't believe any Russians were coerced into doing anything. They were disgusted early on because they were lied to by Putin. They felt actual contrition when they saw the bombing targets.
