That's what he claimed, but I'd like to see evidence of the cases. In this case she pled guilty because she was caught red-handed and clearly guilty. By taking a plea, more serious charges were dropped. She took a plea to avoid conviction in court and a much longer prison sentence.

Hospitals and patients look for that additional training and certification. It's not necessary for practice though. It indicates their specialty -- cardiology, gynecology, family practice, etc.

ER physicians don't typically have an office outside of the hospital though. No doubt she had some side gig with the rich and famous going. She's since reportedly moved to Florida, where her crazy will fit right in. Maybe Minty can be one of her patients, if she ever leaves the house.

U.S. District Judge Christopher R. Cooper said that Gold, who pleaded guilty in March, failed to show remorse or accept responsibility for her actions during the riot. He noted she had claimed in an interview with The Washington Post that “where I was was incredibly peaceful,” when video showed that the emergency room physician and Stanford-trained attorney did nothing as a mob she was with dragged a police officer to the ground.
The judge also called it a “disservice to the true victims that day” that Gold has given supporters the “misimpression” she was politically persecuted for giving a speech, and raised $430,000 for her personal and organization expenses.
