I'm willing to bet that Obama's "slip of the tongue" was contrived. He's just trying to hone in on the publicity.

I don't believe this was a publicity stunt either.

As you said, West was already popular .. in fact when he went on Leno I expected him to be booed, but he was enthusiastically applauded. His profusely apologizing to the nation on national TV doesn't excatly blend with his hard ass rap style.

Swift was already on top of her game, and at 17, she didn't need the publicity .. although I'm sure, glad to get it.

Beyonce' .. well .. nuff said.

You are correct but he painted himself into such a corner he didn't have much of an option. I was never a big fan of his personally but I do like his music. He is extremely talented. As Kelly Clarkson said did dude not get hugged much when he was young? haha...
 
His ruining her moment kind of reminds me of what happened in the 2004 Olympic Marathon. That nut may have ruined De Lima's chances for a gold medal but De Lima proved, you can't keep a good man down. That was probably the greatest display of sportsmanship I ever saw.
