Will Trump run as an independent if he doesn't got the GOP presidential nomination?

And he has a small chance of winning, so he can claim persecution again...

I was wondering if his ego could take another hit of losing but if he can rake in a few more hundred million from his naive minions by running as an independent, methinks he wouldn't give a crap about losing.

I seriously doubt it. Running as an independent takes lots of money--mostly your own money--and that's something Trump isn't going to fork over regardless of what he says.
He's got plenty of money from his Big Lie scams.

I think he'd run as an Independent just to hold events at his properties and keep all the donation money.

Exactly. When he inevitably loses, having obtained a Supreme Court decision allowing him to run even if under indictment, he'll just claim it "was rigged." Wait for it.

I don't think there are any laws keeping a person from running under indictment (or even convicted of a felony).

Here's something else to think about. If Trump does run as an independent, is there a chance no one gets the 270 to win? What would happen then? Would the speaker of the house pick the winner?
Another reason the kill the electoral voting system.

No, the House decides with each state having one vote (determined by the state House delegation).

If we eliminated the electoral college and used the popular vote, what percent of the vote would be required to win? With three candidates it is possible nobody would win a majority.

You wouldn't need a majority. The candidate with the largest vote total would win.

I'll bet the Ds are hoping for him to do that.... and I have to admit, his childish narcissism could actually cause this to happen.

Trump thanks you for mentioning him and starting threads about him every day. It's obvious you can't wait for his big return.

Wrong again, Matt Dildo. You're wrong so much, don't you ever get tired of being wrong?

Here's what I can't wait for:

Just a plurality? Even if the leader only won 30% of the popular vote (opposed by 70% of the voters)?

We did have a president win the electoral college with just 39% of the popular vote.

How interesting that you can lose your right to vote as a felon, but can still run for office. One year in Missouri the (L) candidate had actually served time for drug offenses.

I think a state can disqualify state/local candidates but not federal because the Constitution only has an age and citizenship requirement for officials.

Jim Trafficant of Ohio ran for his congressional seat from prison. Federal judge Alcee Hastings was impeached and convicted and removed from office for bribery and was then elected to Congress from Florida. They can disqualify a person from holding future federal office but did not do so in his case.
