Is America a Christian nation?

The most popular religion in the U.S. is Christianity, comprising the majority of the population (73.7% of adults in 2016), with the majority of American Christians belonging to a Protestant denomination or a Protestant offshoot (such as Mormonism or the Jehovah's Witnesses.)

We are a nation with a predominance of people who are Christians.

See? Even you can make some sense.

What does Michelle Obama have to do with the topic? You have ODS?

I used an example to illustrate my point. What, do you have a problem with that? I could have picked someone else, but I just remembered that particular example as a good one for this application, that's all.

It's what made America great until the non-Christians came to power.

I would alter that to say until the areligious and secular gained power...

The topic is whether the US is a Christian nation. What does Michelle Obama have to do with the topic?

What does a public school lunch program have to do with the topic?

Diet programs for kids have nothing to do with religions.

Indeed.

"Areligious"...Synonyms for NONRELIGIOUS: atheistic, irreligious, godless, religion-less, pagan, secular, church-less.

The reason that atheists reject religion is due to the rules and severe penalties for non-compliance with the rules.

The US was founded on Judeo-Christian values in part. My point in addressing Nifty's post was that secular and non-religious persons who seem to be present in large numbers within the upper power structure today have no values. Instead, they exemplify narcissism and arrogance, believing they have all the answers. When they fail, they simply walk away from the problems they created as if those never happened because they are self-assured in their belief they will face no consequences for their actions.

Yep this is a parody account.

Lost me on the Michelle thing.

Then prove or at least give some reasonable rebuttal to my post, because right now, you got nothing.

"The US was founded on Judeo-Christian values in part."

That part is true. America was founded on various religions, ideals, values, histories, ideas from various civilizations and the laws from the past.

"My point in addressing Nifty's post was that secular and non-religious persons who seem to be present in large numbers"

No proof of such thing. You made it up. I do not know of any politician, especially in the Congress, who is "secular" and "non-religious'.

That is bullshit and you know it.

Allegory, a symbolic fictional narrative that conveys a meaning not explicitly set forth in the narrative. Allegory, which encompasses such forms as fable, parable, and apologue, may have meaning on two or more levels that the reader can understand only through an interpretive process.

"...may have meaning on two or more levels that the reader can understand only through an interpretive process."

This is why he does not understand it.

The percentage of Americans without religious affiliation, often labeled as "Nones", is around 20-29% - with people who identify as "nothing in particular" accounting for the growing majority of this demographic and while both atheists and agnostics accounting for the relatively unchanged minority of this demographic.

Jennifer Longdon, Arizona House of Representatives (District 24), office website. Rep. Longdon is an atheist. She was re-elected in 2020 to a two-year term.

Reading that gave me an headache.

Anyway, this nation was founded as a secular nation. The ideas and laws came from various civilizations and religions, not just Christianity. In fact the Founding Fathers were impressed with Islam.

The First Amendment was written to resolve the Christian denominations problem.

So this nation is a nation of Christian majority.

If IF and that's a huge if this nation was founded as a secular nation its foundation was decidedly not secular.

Long list of atheists in government.

It's not just secularists and atheists either. There are plenty of religious-in-name-only people in political power. I'd point at both Biden and Pelosi who claim to be Catholic, but support abortion on demand up to birth. Both have been called out by the church for their positions on this but haven't moved from those positions. Neither is really Catholic if they can't even accept their own church's precepts and beliefs.

Pointing tin the wrong direction. Biden and Pelosi are practicing Catholics who actually attend church. It was Trump who lied about religion. He was never seen in the church he claimed to be a member of. Trump was the first atheist president in a long time.
