I used an example to illustrate my point. What, do you have a problem with that? I could have picked someone else, but I just remembered that particular example as a good one for this application, that's all.

The reason that atheists reject religion is due to the rules and severe penalties for non-compliance with the rules.

The US was founded on Judeo-Christian values in part. My point in addressing Nifty's post was that secular and non-religious persons who seem to be present in large numbers within the upper power structure today have no values. Instead, they exemplify narcissism and arrogance, believing they have all the answers. When they fail, they simply walk away from the problems they created as if those never happened because they are self-assured in their belief they will face no consequences for their actions.

It's not just secularists and atheists either. There are plenty of religious-in-name-only people in political power. I'd point at both Biden and Pelosi who claim to be Catholic, but support abortion on demand up to birth. Both have been called out by the church for their positions on this but haven't moved from those positions. Neither is really Catholic if they can't even accept their own church's precepts and beliefs.

Pointing tin the wrong direction. Biden and Pelosi are practicing Catholics who actually attend church. It was Trump who lied about religion. He was never seen in the church he claimed to be a member of. Trump was the first atheist president in a long time.
