Is a drag show free speech.

There is nothing inherently wrong with a man wearing a dress or a skirt.
Would you be comfortable if your children's teacher dressed in drag every day? I'm sure you saw the story of the teacher with the gigantic boobs...;)

Would not bother me one inch.
Should teachers be able to dress however they like? It's not important for you to have your children's teachers be good role models? Do you work with any attorneys who appear in court in Drag? Would Sam Britton be welcomed by a principal of a middle school or a courtroom judge?

In my opinion attorneys should be allowed to dress however they chose, justice is blind. I am good with a dress code for teachers, but it should not be based on gender constructs, a professional skirt is okay with me for men, just like slacks would be okay with me for women.

I have seen male attorneys in court wearing a kilt.

I once appeared in court without a tie, because it was an emergency hearing and I did not have one with me when called to court. The judge was pissed. I happened to have lunch that afternoon with the chief judge and told him about it, I received an apology call from the original judge that very afternoon.

The official dress code for attorneys in Palm Beach County says ties are optional in the summer, nobody knows that, but its true.

Why do you think it's important to dress professionally?

It is not always important, but I often do it because I do not want to suffer from the ignorant biases of others.

So you don't think it's important to dress professionally..... what do you think is appropriate attire for an attorney? For a teacher? For students? Or Does anything go for any profession or setting... because requiring appropriate attire is only to appease the biased and ignorant..

So is it intent that concerns you? What is a bad reason for wearing a dress or skirt verses a good reason?

If I’m an Irish dude wearing a kilt…ok. If I’m wearing a dress/skirt for a Sadie Hawkins skit or a play…ok. Even if I’m wearing a dress/skirt because I think it’s fashionable (see Rana’s posted pic on this thread) … weird but … ok. Kind of makes me hate that he is from Oklahoma ;). But if I’m wearing such because I’m a dude who wants to be a lady or wants to look like a lady … not ok.

Note: These are my personal views which are shaped by … well, you know. They are never intended to be made law…and are not pertinent to the OP. But you stated “There is nothing inherently wrong with a man wearing a dress or a skirt” and I pointed out that to me, there is.

Why do you care if someone other than you wants to be a lady or look like a lady?

For almost 2000 years, men dressed up as women to play women's roles in plays from the days of Greek theater all the way up through Victorian England.
