You are correct.

When it comes to seizing property, the IRS mostly does that on paper(through the courts), and then has other law enforcement agencies actually enforce the seizures if needed. That is how the IRS can function with so few armed agents.

The IRS rarely needs guns. It is a huge story when 360 special agents are created, because the IRS is extremely powerful without guns.

They are IRS special agents, who are really IRS agents, but armed for self defense. I doubt I will ever meet one, because I can deal well with normal IRS agents.

Sort of. If it were really illegal to sell to a felon then we would round up all the people who sold guns to felons. Guns are very traceable, so it would be easy.

The fact is sellers are allowed to claim that they did not know the buyer was a felon. They can sell a gun to someone at their prison release party, and still use that as a defense. It is crazy.

The IRS is not ( yet anyway) an arm of the military. Neither is the USPO. Those folks want to arm themselves? Have at it. My tax dollar going to that bullshit? No fucking way.
