whether or not private ownership of weapons is good or bad
isn't the relevant issue.
The relevant issue is whether or not people want them.
That determines the law, and the American culture wants guns.

The gun-loving right is convinced that the left wants to confiscate all firearms and opposes the basic American right to bear arms.
The reality is that too many liberals are fine with that idea, and so we all get painted with the same brush.
