This is what you don't understand. Non-white people have suffered discrimination in this country since the first white person showed up here. It still happens. When non-white people take steps to restore their humanity and their value, you white people are not allowed to bitch about it. You're going to do it anyway, but we don't care. The fake grievances and feigned pearl clutching that you old, white, straight people, especially men, subject us to every day is the most pathetic display of bitchy Karen-ness that I can imagine.

Your racism is so ingrained that you did not even CONSIDER that the black actress may have been the best person for the role. You literally dismiss the idea. You should think about that.
If she was as good as I assume you think she is, and I have no reason to doubt that she is, there must have been dozens of other lead parts she could have been cast for. But Disney, a company that has apparently decided that it is more interested in making social statements than creating entertainment, seems to have felt that casting a "black" (mocha colored, actually) actress in a role we've all known over lo' these many decades as being that of a Caucasian girl just to prove how "into the whole diversity thing" they are and to satisfy the wokeness of the 18 to 35 demographic which their marketing research tells them is a something they should cater to.
Also, why didn't they cast a real black girl rather than a half black girl? Are they only half committed to the cause?
Or were they scared to?
But anyway, back to her acting skills, and I mean this for most actors, white, black, male, female, gay, straight whatever...

They could've put practically anyone in that role.
It's just a stupid animated movie about a half fish/half chick.
They made the chick half mocha to make self-righteous halfwits like you feel good about themselves.
