I don't recall any uproar or boycotts when a white woman played Cleopatra.
She wasn't black that's why!! You ought to lay off drinking so much. From Wiki.
Cleopatra VII, the last active Hellenistic ruler of the Macedonian-led Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, has caused debate in some circles. There is a general consensus among scholars that she was predominantly of Macedonian Greek ancestry and minorly of Iranian descent (Sogdian and Persian).
Did it?
How do you judge a long term plan?
For instance if it is clear XYZ segment in a society is GROWING (lets use Asians) but they are not the majority yet, is it wrong for a company to start marketing to them before they are majority even if a bigoted part of their current consumers will cry and cry and cry that they want ALL the focus and its 'woke' to pander to anyone but them?
People who are a lot smarter than you MagaDerps understand companies cannot be trapped in the past and succeed. They must always be pivoting and reinventing to meet FUTURE demand as it shifts.
Poor example. It is well known that the LGBTPDQRSTUVW+ market is a tiny segment of the whole. While there are many liberal arts majors who have been indoctrinated in that bullshit and believe differently, they often are now in positions to make marketing decisions--bad ones. They are finding that the public as a whole isn't buying what they're selling. Instead of acceptance they are getting massive pushback.
Sex may sell, but gay sex doesn't have much of a market for it.
No one should normalize perversion...deviancy.
Ideological perversion is the predominant component of your character, Earl.
Yet, I suppose that in Tennessee academia,
that WOULD be considered normal.
Of course, we can't know for sure, but the question to ask is Would they have made more without a black mermaid in the movie?

Terry's racism example #8...the conniption continues. LOLThe real problem with the idea of having to include diversity and inclusion in everything is that it is forcing a fake narrative, or one that detracts from the story on it. Taken to it's logical, and absurd, conclusion, Disney should have included some fat mermaids, ugly mermaids, etc., in the mix to show their dedication to inclusion and diversity. It all takes a story and just destroys it.
But that's how the Left rolls. They have the crapper touch...

Go woke. Go broke.
Nobody but the Left likes the Left, and if being politically correct to the Left is your business model you just cut up to 80%+ of the population out of it.
Terry's racism example #10: "this version" meaning the one with the black chick in it.I already did. I put a list of the top 10 money makers in remake movies. The top two cleared a billion +. Even the bottom end ones more than doubled the take of this version of the Little Mermaid.
And, it apparently backfired badly on them.

The modern version of the old person screaming at kids on the sidewalk is the kook watching whack job media screaming about how diversity, wokeness and transgender people are making his life miserable!
Disney changed my favorite kids movie by having dark skinned mermaids!
I was flabbergasted that middle aged, overweight men would go on the internet to cry about the skin tone of a mythical mermaid in a children's movie.
