Trump loses appeal

I hope US District Judge Tanya Chutkan can now keep the March 4th trial date on the obstruction case?!! Over sixty percent of Americans want this trial settled before the election?!! This trial has a bearing on the outcome 2024 election too?!!

If Trump is found guilty on the obstruction case, will the GOP run a convicted felon as their standard bearer? Is Nikki Haley hanging in the balance?
That isn't happening

Everyone knows this will go to the Supreme Court. Trump's lawyers will likely ask for a in bank decision from the entire appeals court. That will delay things even more. Then this will go to SCOTUS.

Smith could ask to have it fast tracked to the SCOTUS, and seeing the appeals court issued a 51 page in detail unanimous decision the SCOTUS could decline to take it up

I don't know, Presidents certainly have immunity and Trump thought he was protecting the election process. So he may well win.

The immunities are very narrow and apply to civil, not criminal immunity.

And Trump was trying to destroy an election and its results, not protect the election process. Thus why he will not win and knows it, and is desperate to delay the cases in the hopes they will never get heard in court, where he knows he will lose.

This Appeals court eviscerated Trump and the idea he was defending the election process.

Why does an innocent man want so many delays? I’d want to go to court to prove my innocence, get it out of the way, save lawyer fees, but I guess when it’s other people’s money, you just don’t care!

He’s got money, actually the cult has money they send him, obvious his goal is to postpone any trial until after the election and then end all cases the day he takes office

There is a good chance the Supremes will not take the case. There are no judicial or logical problems with the court ruling. When the Reds went after Bill, they opened that door.

From what I am seeing the only delay allowed is if the Supreme Court agrees to stay the ruling. The lower court ruling gives Trump until Feb 12 to appeal to the Supreme Court. Any appeal to an en banc court does not result in a stay.

Trump was President on J6th

OK. So then it is up to a jury to decide if his actions were official acts or criminal acts. That is all this ruling does. It doesn't declare Trump guilty. It says he has the same rights as every other citizen that is accused of committing a crime. He is not exempt from prosecution.
