His dementia is getting really bad

Trump talked about the mistakes he made in names. He had a staff ruminate over what was available. He settled for deliberately calling people the wrong names as "humor". It was not funny, wry, or slightly humorous. Trump confused the names as he does so often. Trump is damaged.
Anyone who is never wrong, never admits mistakes, always has an excuse and constantly blames others is, indeed, damaged.

Despite all of his money, Trump has self-esteem issues. Probably related to his micro-penis along with a dysfunctional family life and not being very intelligent. Yes, he’s damaged. At 78, despite his riches, he’ll never change. Sad.

What I find most interesting on JPP are the Abbie Normals who relate to Trump and believe him to a good leader.

Why Some People Will Never Admit They're Wrong
Psychological rigidity is not a sign of strength.

  • The typical response to discovering one is wrong is to admit it, either fully or partially.
  • Some people refuse to admit they’re wrong, even in the face of overwhelming evidence, due to a fragile ego.
  • If one cannot psychologically handle being wrong, they may deny facts to defend their actions or beliefs.

A Fragile Ego Leads to Attempts to Distort Reality

Some people have such a fragile ego, such brittle self-esteem, such a weak "psychological constitution," that admitting they made a mistake or that they were wrong is fundamentally too threatening for their egos to tolerate. Accepting they were wrong, absorbing that reality, would be so psychologically shattering that their defense mechanisms do something remarkable to avoid doing so—they literally distort their perception of reality to make it (reality) less threatening. Their defense mechanisms protect their fragile ego by changing the very facts in their mind, so they are no longer wrong or culpable.

As a result, they come up with statements, such as, "I checked in the morning, and there was enough milk, so someone must have finished it." When it’s pointed out that no one was home after they left in the morning, so no one could have done that, they double down and repeat, “Someone must have, because I checked, and there was milk,” as though some phantom broke into the house, finished the milk and left without a trace.

Some folks that believe that Joe has dementia believe that Obama is running the committee that now runs the puppet you call Joe Biden. You'll hear them say, "It's the second Obama Presidency"... they don't have dementia, they just see that Joe barely has the capacity to read a speech after weeks of practice (and then only without screwing up 'too much'), and that he isn't capable of, nor is he actually, running the executive branch of this republic. I don't think Obama is running things, personally, but I don't think Joe is either.

Yes some also say Trump meant to say Nikki Haley was the one responsible for security on Jan 6th, and not Nancy Pelosi as Trump said after the gaff he meant it and he was playing on them both having N as their first initial.

Some say those people are idiots and dupes of the highest order.

And btw Damo, some here think i am unfair to you and mean and the reason i tell them is because of posts like these by you. Unlike other Magats you do not have the courage to own your own posts and you like to hide behind 'others saying' or 'you hearing things'. I have far more respect for a Magat who will at least own and say it. I have never held any for those who would always hide away from their own thoughts and words and try to express them as 'others'.

Damo is a businessman first and political second. :)

MAGAts can’t be MAGAts if they own up to their own words, take responsibility for themselves and admit that all Americans have a right to free speech even if they disagree with them.

The two least liked candidates in living history. Both are too old to serve in elected office, but I’d readily agree that Pedo Don is the worst candidate I’ve ever seen run. Yes, including George Wallace. LOL

Like has nothing to do with it. He’s a good guy but not functional enough to be leader of the Free World, IMO. Elder statesman? Absolutely, but not the person who can handle something like JFK’s 13 days in October.
I must have misunderstood your original comment

It was well known that Joe was going to be a one-term President since he was the most likely candidate to beat Trump…which he barely did. This is another close race and the best candidate the Democrats have is still Joe Biden. What does that say about both parties?

Biden won the election with 306 electoral votes and 51.3% of the national popular vote, compared to Trump's 232 electoral votes and 46.9% of the popular vote.

Not sure 'barely' is the term you are looking for.

Agree about the one term thing, but did we really believe that trump would be the republican candidate in '24? If Biden didn't have to pander to S.C by choosing Harris as VP, we could easily have seen trump vs. Buttigieg this time around.

Harris cannot beat anybody in a general election, so it's Biden again. Hell...she wouldn't even have won the Dem. primary. I'm sure the calculation was that a nasty Dem. primary would hand trump plenty of fodder for the general.

At least now the only thing a demented trump has, is to mumble inane comments about a supposed senile opponent. I'm not sure which is worse?

I believe that Biden wins by a bigger margin this time, as Roe is now front and center. Each week some Right Wing loon in a Red state pushes further toward The Handmaid's Tale being reality.

It's easy to blame Garland for dragging his feet re. trump, in an attempt to appear apolitical. But...the House was doing good work in their hearings, so Garland addressed more pressing issues in the nation.

One thing is for certain, this is going to be a fascinating year.

The fact the Democrats needed a septuagenarian because they had no one better to beat Trump is significant. The numbers were still close and it appears they are closer in 2024. The polls keep flip-flopping between the two and that says a lot about the voting public. Mostly, IMO, fear, paranoia and stupidity.

Harris lacks charisma. I have nothing against her as a politician, but Nikki would provide a better face for the nation than Kamala.

The polls are so close, and often within the margin of error, that I wouldn’t bet on the outcome next November. I’d feel more comfortable if Trump was a convicted felon or died in his sleep from a life of excess leaving Nikki as the RNC nominee.

Agreed it will be a fascinating year since the election results will probably affect the direction of the nation for the next 10 to 20 years.

I see you have received your marching orders from Trump headquarters, and are performing your service to him.

I see your, "I know you are but what am I?" argument, and call your bluff. I am not voting for tRump... and I know, as do you, that the "they do it too" argument is a confession.

Your man has serious issues, and I still hope sanity prevails before you hand a victory to your opponent. I already know a vote to save the Constitution by voting Libertarian is unlikely to win... but keeping your dementia addled man in the race isn't working too well for you.

I like Cypress but, like you, disagree with him about Biden. You and I are agreed on Trump and voting Libertarian as the best option.

Would you vote for Nikki? I would but the only way for her to get the nomination is for Trump to be removed from the competition.

Donald Trump's String of Gaffes Over Weekend Raises Eyebrows

The word is getting out about Trump dementia and gaffe filled speeches?!! It was the first topic on Morning Joe this morning?!!

Donald Trump has been criticized for making a string of gaffes during two weekend campaign speeches.

The Republican presidential candidate addressed crowds on Saturday in Richmond, Virginia, and Greensboro, North Carolina, ahead of Super Tuesday, when more than a dozen states will vote in Republican primaries.

Ron Filipkowski, a Trump critic and the editor-in-chief of the independent news network MeidasTouch, on X, formerly Twitter, that compiled 32 incidents in both speeches in which, Filipkowski said, the Republican "mispronounced words, got confused, mixed up names, forgot names, and babbled insane nonsense."

Newsweek contacted a representative for Donald Trump by email for comment.

The video shows Trump appearing to slur his words and misspeak on several occasions, including by mispronouncing Venezuela and calling Argentina a "great guy."

He also asked the crowd to look at the back of his head to check it. He then said: "I'm like an artist."

Yeah, we're pretty much sympatico here... I even, also, like Cypress.

Mr. Tiny Penis, this rant sounds like a description of yourself right down the the micro penis claim.

Yeah, but whatabout Biden? Why are you looking at Trump?

Inb4Damo lies about not being a Trump shill.

I believe the nation would be more comfortable with Biden, if Buttigieg were first in line in case of emergency. Knowing that Harris steps in, IMO, is a terrible chain around Biden's neck. I'd love to see Harris step down, and let Pete be the running mate.

I believe Harris is capable, but like Clinton she simply isn't 'likeable'.

Biden does not suffer from dementia.

trump does.

Could be. I like Buttigieg but think he’s a bit young. I also haven’t seen any poll numbers on him. Probably since Harris, like Biden, is unlikely to step down.

Agreed although I think Harris is more honest than either Clinton.

LOL.

Too old vs. too young.

Buttigieg has the intelligence to carefully weigh any issue and come to the right conclusion. Not unlike Obama. He took advice from as many sources as possible, thoroughly read all pertinent briefings/documents, and came to a conclusion.

I know for a fact that Biden is no different, but the election seems to be more about optics. And a potential POTUS Harris.

Biden does not suffer from dementia.

trump does.

Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr are 80 years old, and they are out there performing shows, creating music, and running international businesses.

How did this idea that an active working life stops at 80 get started, if one is physically fit and mentally capable?

Correct. LOL

Agreed. A few years as VP would likely give him the experience but, again, the point is moot because Harris won’t step down. If Biden is out and Harris is in, then Mayor Pete would be a good nominee for VP.

Yes, the face of the nation is about optics. It’s about confidence in one’s leaders and their abilities to serve. Not the thread about the AP poll and mental fitness. It’s not for American voters but for other nations, both allies and hostiles.
