Segregation now, segregation forever!

Why would white people need to provide "separate but equal" facilities for black people? Why would businesses need to go to the expense and trouble of doing that? There was no law stating this had to be done, and the 'interpretations' of the Constitution at the time, didn't even give black people American citizenship. They didn't have any right to equality with white people, so why would white people be going out of their way to provide it?

The CRA of 1875, which you are crowing about here, was actually the impetus behind segregation policies. It was the REASON we had segregation for another century! After that act was passed, it became the law that blacks had to be given "equal access" ....note, it doesn't say SAME access! Therefore, white people began practices of "segregation" and provided "separate but equal" facilities for blacks, which conformed to the CRA of 1875 as it was written, and the SCOTUS upheld the practice until 1954. In 1954, the argument was made, that "separate but equal" was indeed NOT equal, and the concept of "desegregation" was born.

From the Merriam-Webster dictionary

Segregation

2 a : the separation or isolation of a race, class, or ethnic group by enforced or voluntary residence in a restricted area, by barriers to social intercourse, by separate educational facilities, or by other discriminatory means b : the separation for special treatment or observation of individuals or items from a larger group <segregation of gifted children into accelerated classes.>

Unless you're totally ignorant of American history regarding slavery and Jim Crow laws, you're insane notion that segregation wasn't "official" and therefore not technically existent (and therefore no law was against it) reeks of the revisionist blatherings found in the writings of David Duke and like minded trolls. But as always, a more accurate historical record will always be your undoing. That the information is so readily available speaks volumes on your willful ignorance and preference of your idealism over matters of fact and history:

But it is also true that segregation happens in houses of worship (and many other places) through far less overtly vicious or deliberate efforts to separate people.

All I've pointed out, is that "segregation" was a byproduct of emancipation and the initial "civil rights" legislation presented by Jarhead, and that is historical fact. The practices were upheld by the Supreme Court in several landmark cases challenging the Jim Crow laws, namely, Plessy v. Ferguson. The notion that our country "outlawed" segregation is 1875, is laughable, since we hadn't even begun to implement segregationist policies yet! At that point in time, black people would have been ecstatic to get their own facilities separate from whites, as opposed to being hung from trees for walking by a white establishment. You and Jarhead keep wanting to apply a 2010 viewpoint to 1875 America, as if we had courageous liberals standing up demanding equality for black people back then, and that simply wasn't the case for many a year. Yeah, I admitted, there were a FEW people who did, most of them found themselves swinging from a tree for their efforts, that was the reality of the times. By and large, America did not embrace 'desegregation' until the mid 50s, after the SCOTUS ruling in Brown v. Board of Ed., and even then, a sizable number fought it for another decade, until passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Voting Rights Act of 1965. To pretend that wasn't the case, or that some slim minority of white supremacists in the South prevented the law from being applied, is foolish and ignorant of history.

From MY perspective, I really think the actual history of how things DID transpire, says a lot more about the courage of people like Fredrick Douglas, and W.E.B. DuBois, than the revisionist claptrap you two are trying to push here. I think you diminish the efforts of these people and others, by trying to claim white America was doing something it simply wasn't doing, in order to make yourselves feel better about your past, or to admonish the "racist Southerners" as if they were solely responsible for the history of racial discrimination in America.

And there you have it folks....faced with historical FACTS that disprove YET ANOTHER erroneous assertion, Dixie just ignores it and prattles on with his myopic diatribes , revisionist viewpoints, and convoluted logic. Essentially, it's what Dixie wants to believe and NOT what actually transpired that is the crux of his white supremacist version of history....and he'll bob and weave, twist and bend over backwards rather than acknowledge how historical facts prove him dead wrong time and again. But that's the main point of racist propagandist...to use any venue to consistently bullhorn their nonsense in the hopes of convincing other willfully ignorant or genuinely ignorant folk.

But that's not going to happen....as the chronology of this thread demonstrates.

And there you have it folks, another clumsy skit from the resident clown of the board, designed to entertain the pinheads and befuddle the intelligent! Throw him some peanuts folks, he deserves 'em for that performance!

Obviously you do, jackass...otherwise you wouldn't have spent the time and effort to read what I wrote and then post a response. :palm:

So you equate someone laughing at you, as caring about you.
I guess your formed that opinion, from your parents laughng at you; throughout your child hood.

Here's me CARING about you.

False the busting up of the Black Laws and Congresses attempts to desegregate society led to the Jim Crow laws that stayed in effect until the 1960's.

So, Dixie, what argument am I trying to claim you were making that you were not making?

And there you have it folks....when I explained to him years ago that America's freedom was never at risk on 911, it was too much for him. So he just follows me around like a petulant child with the ignorant babbling you see above. Small wonder why he earned the name "Freedumb" from other posters. I leave him to his rants.

In trying to get the last word in, you just keep proving my point, Tempie. You take time and effort to read my various posts, what responses there are, my rebuttals.

Your lame excuse paints an even more pathetic picture of you.....you spend time and energy reading and commenting on someone that you consider a joke. My old psych professor in abnormal psych called what you do abnormal and obsessive....and I have to look up what's the category for jokers like you that do this for YEARS.

You're a joke, Tempie...you always have been and you always will be....pity you don't realize that. Carry on.

I watch flies walking on the tree, when I'm sitting outside; but it doesn't mean I care about them.

You are the poster child, for Adults Who Didn't Get Enough Attention As a Child.
Check to see if there's' a chapter of AWDGEAAC, in your area.

Just because you were seeing the Psych, doesn't mean that you were being taught and was more then likely, being studied.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

To late, you fool.
Your UN-EDITTED post can still be seen, in my earlier reply.

Try thinking, before you type; then try re-reading it, before you hit the submit button.

GAWD, what an idiot you are.

Back to square one! Dixie is just another 3rd rate racist propagandist....once logically and factually disproven, he just keeps regurgitating his beliefs and avoids and/or denies any evidence that contradicts him. He distortions, lies and substitution of his supposition and conjecture for chronological history is apparent throughout this thread, from his moronic "conclusions" about slavery and the current Dem party to his absurd assertions regarding segregation and Congressional Acts against them. Case in point:

To further engage Dixie just gives him what all willfully ignorant racist propagandist crave...an excuse to spew their bilge. Once you logically and factually make fools of them in print for all to see, you just leave them to flail and rage alone...the more they talk, the more evident their debase mindset is.

To the contrary Chicklet, it is you and Jarhead spewing racist propaganda and trying to change history. I'm not the one who is denying years of blatant discrimination against black Americans, claiming we outlawed segregation in 1875! That is YOU and JARHEAD! I'm the one arguing against your racist propaganda! Sorry you were confused about that!

Put your dress down....you're not impressing anyone...the evidence is there. You made a statement, I provided proof that it was wrong...and you don't have to guts to acknowledge it. Lie, deny and dodge all you want, Dixie...your BS is self

No, you haven't provided any proof of anything, and I haven't been proven wrong on anything in this thread. You continue to insult me and call me a racist without any substantiation, and the people who frequent this board are very familiar with your antics.

What you presented was more revisionist claptrap and distortion of history, and you keep wanting to turn my argument into something I never argued. You want me to be a racist stereotype who is saying racially discriminatory things, so you can act like a big shot and put me in my place, but I've not said anything that fits the criteria, so you desperately keep trying to twist my words into that, because you are a bigoted hypocrite racist yourself.

I grew up in Alabama, a state which has a very vivid and rich history regarding Civil Rights. From the time I first entered elementary school until I graduated college, I studied about Civil Rights and the history of racial turmoil in America. I won't claim I know everything about it, but I venture to say, I know more than the average white person in America about this subject. Being that I am 1/16 African-American, and 1/8 Native American Indian, I do have a vested interest in racial discrimination, my family was the victim of it through much of our history in America, which dates back to the late 1600s.

But now Chicklet, you don't have to believe that, you keep on believing your myths and stereotypes, and keep judging people by their avatar and not the content of their character or what they actually have to say. That's the reason I go by "Dixie" and fly the rebel flag, to expose people like you for the bigoted prejudice fools they are. It makes my day!

I pointed out that Congress made an unsuccssfull attempt at outlawing segregation in 1875, I never claimed that discrimination did not occure, in fact it still occures, I never claimed segregation was outlawed. I merely pointed out that in Congress as far back as 1875 there was an effort to do so...

You are smart enough to know that and not to confuse my points!

You're so full of it that it almost defies description. You ran this BS before and no one bought it....in fact, no one cares, because YOU MOUTH THE EXACT BS FOUND IN THE PROPAGANDA OF WHITE SUPREMACIST PROPAGANDIST...the revisionist history, the excuses for the racism behind the Confederate flag, the assinine assumptions of what black folk think, feel and how they react. Bottom line: I've dealt with assholes like you during my life, who put on the " one 16th" this or that to justify their blatherings while NEVER mentioning what the other 15th is. Why, because YOU'RE white by physical identification and by social standing... and by your own mindset, that's NORM to you. So your 1/16 doesn't give you any special insight or justification to the BS you spew....but it does speak volumes about the inner disdain you have for that lineage you put on like a coat when needed. The "bootstrap" BS mouthed by every bigot who indulges in the stereotyped propaganda about black folk in America that all but ignores the effects of country's congenital racisim and bigotrypermeates your writings....so much more to pity you.

You started a thread portraying black people as ignorant dupes enslaved to the current Dem party....that was logically and factually thrown in the dumpster by myself and others.

Then you try to rewrite history by claiming Civil Rights Acts have nothing to do with segregation, you make all types of moronic statements that there were no one in Congress or Senate that were against the segregationist policies practiced in the US, and to top things off you claim that there were no "separate but equal" nonsense going on in the USA in the 1800's. The last one I just used simple research to prove you wrong, and you're in denial about that. Instead you try to lie about what transpired and what other posters stated.

You're not fooling anyone, Dixie...except maybe yourself. Repeat your lies, your dodges, your distortions....the chronological order of the thread will always be your undoing. You're done.

NEVER mentioning what the other 15th is. Why,

LOL.. .Well... 1/8 is Native American Cherokee Indian, and I am listed as this on my drivers license. I also have 1/4 Asian blood, 1/4 "Black Dutch" which is actually German peasant stock, some Italian and Spanish blood as well. I am pretty much a mixed breed mutt! I come from a family of real horndogs, and as far as I know, none of my ancestors ever discriminated against ANY race, they pretty much LOVED everybody!

I have not rewritten history, that is what you and Jarhead keep trying to do. Read his silliness about the "Desegregation Act of 1875" that never existed because segregation hadn't even begun as an institutionalized policy yet! Oh yes, I suppose you could make an argument that white people eating in a white restaurant while the black man swung from a tree out back for looking in the window, was "segregation" ...just not what I commonly think of as such.
