Bluesky has storm clouds gathering

Our collective sickness is now that we gain so much "connection" with our fellow people via "social networks" that we can no longer navigate a real world full of people we disagree with. The other damaging thing about social media is that it encourages anonymity (a perfectly rational approach) but that anonymity frees people to be their absolute worst without consequence.

That's what JPP is for. Absolute worst things we can hurl at each other like a rage room where the dishes we break are other people. Slam, bash, beat, insult, it's supplanted a lot of our social interactions now.

Any corner of this cesspool where people can get a break is OK. But it's just more of the same. Anonymous, unreal, no actual connection and liable to become as toxic as possible.

I think you have some good points.

You're entitled to your opinion. That doesn't tar me with the same brush, even if it's valid.

You don't seem to be willing to address the issue, though.

Should Damocles use the same preemptive methods as Bluesky and pre-Musk Twitter to prevent you from seeing things you don't agree with or believe to be true, or do you reserve the right to exercise your own judgment, as he currently allows?

BTW, I find your use of epithets and insults unseemly in a good faith discussion, but I'm not going to demand to be shielded from such things.

Do you really fear words on a screen?
Sock; you've tarred yourself with your posts. No one needs to help you.

@Damocles is a Libertarian like me. Why would he block something for MAGAt morons?

Posting solely for reaction, to harass, or stalk and not contributing to the discussion in any way is a waste of everyone's time.

Therefore, know this:

We are representing the recently-reelected President of the United States of America.

We aren't required to respond to abusive and irrelevant replies.

From now on, we won't.

If you think this message is directed at you, it is.

When you posted this, you seemed to know the answer.

If you people cared about freedom of expression, you wouldn't have lit your hair on fire when some football players kneeled during the national anthem.
Yes, I believe I do. The fact that you won't answer the question means that you did not support the kneeling protest and now you're out here bitching about freedom of expression related to a private company. Your hypocrisy and general stupidity astound me. Also, the fact that you have now highlighted the word "kneeled" 3 times leads me to believe you are not an American.

Non sequitur.

The past tense of kneel is normally "knelt", BTW.

Bluesky is an amalgamation of leftie sheep who are butthurt over Musk buying Twitter which now offers free speech to everybody but a very select few.
Like Truth Social and a handful of other startups, they usually wind up being a collection of whiners all supporting their own cause.
God bless the lefties for showing Musk by announcing all over X in multiple posts that they are leaving. Few actually do, but the world is a better place for their admission that they can't cope with this massive election loss.

Sadly, they live off the number of followers they garner so they will trickle back to X as have the Truth Social crowd.

Seldom do these "I quit in spite" programs have traction, Bud Light being one of the great glaring exceptions.

You make some interesting points.
