Oh SPARE US ALL that tired ass trope! Gunners fight tooth and nail against any reasonable legislation to make it harder for the criminal element to obtain weapons. AND LAST TIME I CHECKED, THERE WAS NEVER A GUN LAW PASSED THAT ENDED THE PLETHORA OF THE LATEST RIFLES (bolt action hunting, semi-auto), SHOTGUNS, (single, double shot, some even pump action) HAND GUNS (semi-auto, revolver, etc.) ... all available to law abiding citizens under various state laws.
Note that the second the GOP let the 1994 AWB sunset, the first weapon that flew off the shelves was the AR-15 and it's various versions. To date, it's been the weapon of choice for a LARGE portion of mass shootings in the last 30 years ... many LEGALLY OBTAINED.

Probably not worth asking, but does even cross your mind why the Second Amendment is the only Amendment inwhich the Founders installed a prefatory clause? The First Amendment lists directly Americans’ rights, so why didn’t they do the same for the Second Amendment instead of employing a prefatory with operative clause?
