President Trump instructs the US Treasury to stop minting new pennies

And eventually the bills will be gone and you would have an abundance of different coins that you could even cut the amount you mint every year cutting the cost of making money.
Why did the half dollar, the Susan B. Anthony and silver dollar fall out of favor?

Yes it did it just went way over your head.
They failed to be used because people still had paper money, money that costs more to print and doesn't last as long as coins do.
No, it does not answer.

The people have spoken. They prefer paper. You just want to take away their freedom to choose.

I hardly ever carry any change. I dump all my coins in a big piggy bank.

This thread shows how goose step the leftist are.

Anything Trump proposes, they are against, even if it makes common sense.

Once again, not his right to say. The Constitution specifically gives that power to the Congress.

Also, that is the whole concept of non-fiat currency. By using valuable metals, you push up the cost of producing money. We are told by the far right that this is a good thing.

I use credit cards, and pay the statement balance every month. That way, I save 1% to 5% on every transaction. I keep a few bills (ones and twenties) for tips and the like.

It is not fair, but people who pay cash end up subsidizing me several thousand dollars a year.

Feb 14, 2013 — President Obama says it may be time to get rid of the one cent coin.

I have nothing against trump being open to Congress doing it, but him being a goose stepping little bitch and doing it by decree is unconstitutional. It really is not about the penny, it is about the Constitution.
Interestingly, legal opinions online say it's a gray area. At least he got the ball rolling.

Fun fact ... the mint does produce legal tender $100 platinum coins.

Yes, I'm familiar. How does that prove business and local governments won't be rounding up to the nearest nickel?

I'm not a business guy but I do know a thing or two about human behavior.
really?

from all I've seen you suck at psychology.
