Chuck Schumer now owns the shutdown

Sure. Repubs have control of all 3 branches and somehow a Dem is at fault. It belongs to the right with tariffs and privatization of everything.
At fault of what, Sybil??? No vote has taken place yet!

Chuck Schumer has simply stated his intention to try to block a Senate vote on the budget bill. Schumer happens to be a Democrat.

He was the one bragging that he had the votes to shut the government down, so I'd say he was taking ownership before the vote went down. It is also notable that Nordberg doesn't understand how filibuster works.

So, when the Democrats had control of all three branches and passed a budget on party lines and the Republicans didn't go along, wasn't it Schumer denouncing them the loudest for not being "bipartisan" and voting for the Democrat bill? Schumer would then also blame the Republicans for the shutdown of government that ensued.

So, yes, this time it is the Democrat's fault by their own damn logic.

Here's @SenAdamSchiff in 2023 lamenting that if government shut down, employees "would've not gotten their paychecks" and "service members in the military would be forced to go to work and not get paid." Now, he and his fellow Democrats are threatening a shutdown.

That's commonly called the "It's for the children!" argument, or more formally, an Appeal to pity.

The Trumpys have not allowed any real Dem input. They are doing President Musk and Donald's bidding. There are no good-faith negotiations. The Dems cannot be expected to vote for a bill that does damage to the country. Johnson arrogantly says you have to vote for it or be like Reds and become a party that blows things up. The Dems cannot help the super-rich get even more p[power and money.

AOC looks like a friggin' genius compared to Crockett. Crockett is more on Maxine Waters level of stupid.
Maxine I've mostly viewed as being a VERY hate-filled person... not that the others aren't, but Maxine sure takes it to another level.

AOC I've mostly viewed as being a VERY stupid person, but Jasmine does seem to really want the "stupidest representative" title. There's that representative from Hawaii who's right up there too.

Well said!

Ever wonder why comedians look to Congress for much of their source material?

The threat of a shutdown is from the Reds.
:rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:
They have the fucking majority in the House and Senate.
Of course they have the fucking majority by a landslide, but fucking isn't voting.

60 votes are needed for cloture. Since there are only 53 R's in the Senate, that means that the D's hold the power to force a "shutdown" or not, as they can choose to "stick together" and keep R's from getting the 60 votes necessary for cloture.
Is that hard for you to comprehend?
I comprehend it just fine. It's YOU who has comprehension issues.
