Two Mexican Nationals Busted in Colorado With 180,000 Rounds of Ammunition

I believe America gifted a bunch of M1As to the Mexican Army and DEA, and they get stolen or sold to the Cartels.

If you're going to have some other rifle, with only 1 in 20, that says to me, squad sniper rifle. The American Military Sniper Rifles are too expensive, but in the international arms market, Dragunovs are cheap. ( They are also fairly poor sniper rifles, compared to ours, but, good enough for the job )

Call it a hunch.

I don't know what rifles or calibers Fast and Furious let get stolen or gave away..
That said, there wasn't a mention of what caliber(s) the ammo was, so it's just speculation at this point.

There are a number of calibers that are used in sniper rifles, even the cheap ones, and as you've said, they are "good enough for the job."
I haven't a clue what guns are on the international or black markets, but I would assume they are mostly the cheaper, less accurate guns
compared to what we have. I do know that, if reworked, the Dragunovs can be competitive with some of our accurate sniper rifles, and they don't come cheap either.

He has this issue with running away from the OP and deflects from the discussion when he gets demoralized. It's a trademark of his.
I'm not sure if it was something said in the very beginning or the response style in general. Do you actually know lefty is as man? I have always assumed he's a she, lol. For real.

The guys in my gun club get together and buy ammo (and gun powder) in bulk, in a variety of calibers. Even then, they only get 5000 or so rounds at a time (sometimes, more .22s.).
180,000 rounds in one van could only be headed to an illegal destination.

Immigrants or people temp here on visas cannot buy ammo.

An American Citizen would have to have firearms sales license to transport that much ammo in one trip, across state lines.
