This is insane

As Christians have been told for something like 100 years to stop ringing their bells.

Yes, the suiciding West is insane.

Buckle Up.

This is clearly a violation of the 1st Amendment where government is favoring one religion over others. Why haven't the Atheists sued?

At a recent public hearing, Christian and Jewish leaders expressed support for extending the hours for the adhan.
Doesn't change what I stated. When religion, whatever religion, intrudes on the general public in a way that cannot be avoided, it is an infringement on your 1st Amendment rights. Having prayer call wailing across a city does that. It might be fine in some Muslim country, but it isn't in the US.

MAGAts say we have the right to not hear.

I'm deaf and I enjoy it.

xmas Day is recognized as a federal holiday with specifically Christian origins.

All the Constitution says is the govt shall not establish a religion. Giving people a day off doesn't establish anything but a day off.

How is it different than multiple churches ringing their bells all over creation, and at different times?

It's the people you don't like, not the sound.

It is a federal paid holiday

Christmas Day is one of eleven federal holidays recognized nationwide by the United States Government

December 25th is not originated by Christians.
The birthdate of Jesus Christ is unknown. Indications are that he was born in the spring, not at the winter solstice. It was lambing season and tax season during Christ's birth.

Winter solstice celebrations, including Saturnia, are popular with pagan religions. It was the Catholic Church that put Christmas on Dec 25 to try to quash the pagan celebrations.

It didn't work, of course.

It does not violate the 1st amendment in any way to recognize a popular religious holiday.

Please tell me you realize that doesn't mean it hasnt happened.
If it's not violating a noise ordinance, there's nothing any lawyer can do about church bells.

Have you ever heard anyone complain about church bells? Because that would make them an uptight asshole.
