Trump tariffs create budget surplus

There is no way, none, that 90% + of what Trump does is bad / negative / awful / terrible. Yet the MSM portrays EVERYTHING he does as a disaster, mistake, misstep, you-name-it.

For example, the MSM, and every Trump hater on this board, excoriated him for budget cuts to the NWS which they uniformly claimed resulted in no warnings to the locals. When that line of lies and bullshit blew up in their faces, they changed to his "failure" to visit the disaster in a timely fashion. Now that he's in Texas at the site, they'll switch to something new and equally negative.

It never stops with the MSM's utter and complete contempt for and hatred of Trump.
TDS has helped to destroy the credibility of the MSM.

I isolated this sentence and this sentence alone. And no, I'm not taking this statement out of context. All you have to do is take Jan 6th along with the fact that you and the rest of your cult are still defending it and the lies behind it is all the proof anyone needs that you have zero self-awareness of what's going on right now in your own party.

"Throughout and following his time in office, Donald Trump has maintained a strong base of support often referred to as "loyalists". However, a significant number of individuals who were once considered loyal to him have publicly distanced themselves or become critics, facing various consequences as a result.
Political and professional consequences

  • Frozen out or passed over: Those who challenged Trump, like Nikki Haley, have been excluded from a second administration, according to NBC News.
  • Loss of positions: Republicans in Congress who voted to impeach Trump or questioned his actions faced primary challenges, ostracization from the party, or even left Congress.
  • Targeted rhetoric and public criticism: Trump and his allies have publicly attacked and disparaged former supporters who became critical, according to CNN.
Loss of influence and security
  • Stripped security details: Trump removed security details from former officials who have faced threats, such as Dr. Anthony Fauci and Mike Pompeo, reports The New York Times.
  • Legal scrutiny: Some loyalists who participated in efforts to challenge the 2020 election results, like Jenna Ellis, Kenneth Chesebro, and Sidney Powell, have faced legal charges and entered plea deals.
Social and personal consequences
  • Online harassment and threats: Some individuals who spoke out against Trump have been targeted with harassment and threats from his supporters, says AP News.
It's important to note that the impact on individuals can vary. Some former loyalists have found new platforms and continue to be vocal critics, while others have retreated from the public spotlight. Additionally, some individuals who initially criticized Trump have later reconciled with him, suggesting that the dynamics of loyalty and opposition within his sphere can be fluid and complex.

Tell me any of this is false and them tell me "who's in lockstep" with whom!
BUT TRUMP!!!

Your jean price went up because they need more denim to cover your even expanding rear end. A you suggesting the we don't have the technology to make jeans? Remember there is also a savings in not having to ship them around the world. Why would you want slaves making your jeans. That is just evil.

For the first time since Trump's first term, the federal government has a budget surplus due to tariffs taken in. You're not likely to hear about that on any MSM news channel other than maybe FOX.
Perhaps you should bother to check your facts before you make idiotic claims.
In 2024, the US had surpluses in April and September.

Here is the Federal report

In 2024 there were two months with a surplus so this is not the first time since Trumps first term. The surpluses happen in the months where quarterly tax payments are due. April is the most common month to have that happen. Then when you look at the actual numbers, the US is on pace to have a larger deficit this fiscal year compared to last year. At this point in 2024 the US had a $1.2 trillion deficit. It is already $1.33 trillion this fiscal year.

You are exactly right. There's a reason why Walmart and other retailers are mighty unhappy. That pair of jeans you could buy at Walmart last year for $25 is going to go up because of the tariffs. Walmart isn't going to eat that new tax. YOU will pay that new tax. Reichwingers appear to be extremely uninformed about what tariffs are, as you pointed out. @Grokmaster -- copied from Google AI.

Actually, Walmart and all corporations are thrilled with tariffs. They still haven't reduced prices from the Covid supply chain issues. They will hike prices, increase profits/dividends/CEO pay, and blame tariffs.

Every single one of them.

It is total BS because you Trumpys are claiming this so-called Tariff revenue has balanced the budget. There is no tariff revenue collected.
I have said over and over again that Trump has betrayed MAGA and betrayed me....I am not a Trumpy....I am however MAGA.

Trump can redeem himself, I believe in redemption.

I am an enemy of the Empires constantly driving war misery and chaos all around the planet as it chases colonial exploitation......Trump has decided to double down on this end of empire bullshit....he calls it peace through strength....which is a rebranding of "Do as you are told or else we will destroy you".....previously sold as "The rules based international order".

NO.

The Imperial Empire barely anymore even bothers to argue that it is morally superior, that it is trying to transform the world into a better way of living....it is all thuggery now as the world increasingly comes to the conclusion that we are Evil and must be removed from power in order to save humanity.

Can this get done without us incinerating the planet in nuclear WW3?

We are about to find out.

Sorry, TA, but Trump is BY FAR the worst president in my lifetime...and almost certainly, in my opinion, the worst president ever in the history of this country. (And as I have mentioned before, over one-third of all the presidents who have ever served...have served during my lifetime.)

I have never said anything remotely like that about any president previously...and there have been several that I considered pretty bad.

But Trump is an abomination...a disgusting individual and a miserable president.

The reason for his bad press is not bias against him...it is because he is so bad.

TA's one of the more reasonable ones - probably the most but even then - can only ever see one side of an issue - and if Dems are on one of those sides they'll always be the fucked-up ones to him.

The rest of them just scream "trump!" or "TDS" if we dare call him out for his shit. HE'S THE FUCKING PRESIDENT!!! The other thing they do is deflect to Biden WHO ISN'T PRESIDENT!

The fool doesn't realize there are no American manufacturers to compete with cheap overseas labor. He's using antiquated rhetoric to describe the way tariffs used to work.
I know! It's like, the trumptards think the tariffs will create factories instantly as if by magic and then all manufacturing will happen here. Every trumptard lives in an alternate reality.

Oh, by the way, the next two posts after yours are by @Hawkeye10 . Please translate what he said for the class and have it ready for us by morning :)

Agreed. They aren't very bright.

I like TA. He is just wrong on this point.

Only the Left. That's been true for me since the 80's. Saw it in college and it hasn't changed since. Trump is a temporary aberration. He'll be gone and somebody will replace him. The problem is the Left is relentless. They may be utterly stupid, but they never give up.

Once the Left latches onto an idea, no matter how insane, they won't let go or change their minds.
