Federal Agents Spray Tear Gas at Protesters, Children During ICE Raids at California Farms | Common Dreams

Where was I "dishonest?"

It was a marijuana growing and distribution operation, a federal crime and felony.
There were child laborers on the operation.
The majority of the workers were in the US illegally.
It is possible that a Mexican drug cartel was involved in financing this operation, but that is currently unproven.

On an illegal farming operation growing drugs and possibly run by a Mexican cartel who were also using child labor...

Who's brutalizing whom?
Did the workers know the operation was illegal, assuming it was? The owners certainly did. Were they beaten and gassed?

Hard for me to read this type of thing, but it looks like some here really need a lesson on what ICE is doing, so here goes...

"ICE was conducting a raid using disproportionate displays of force against local farmworkers and our agricultural community," said U.S. Rep. Salud Carbajal, who was denied entry to one farm where he was attempting to provide oversight.

U.S. Rep. Salud Carbajal (D-Calif.), who represents Santa Barbara County and part of Ventura County, released a statement condemning the ICE raid and saying he had been "denied entry and not allowed to pass" when he attempted to "conduct oversight" over the raid targeting his constituents in Carpinteria.

"ICE was conducting a raid using disproportionate displays of force against local farmworkers and our agricultural community," said Carbajal. "There's been a troubling lack of transparency from ICE since the Trump administration started, and I won't stop asking questions on behalf of my constituents."

Carbajal is now one of several Democratic elected officials who have been denied the ability to oversee ICE operations. Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-N.J.) pleaded not guilty last month to forcibly interfering with federal officers—charges that stemmed from her attempt to conduct congressional oversight at an ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey.

"These militarized ICE raids are not how you keep our communities safe. This kind of chaos only traumatizes families and tears communities apart. They are also a gross misuse of limited resources and a betrayal of the values that define us as Americans," said Carbajal, who noted that the identities of those detained in the raids had not been made clear.

Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat who has clashed with President Donald Trump and filed a lawsuit against the administration last month over its federalization of the California National Guard to respond to protests against immigration raids in Los Angeles, posted a video showing children running from the federal agents.

It is legal in California, but illegal federally. Glass House Farms is engaged in interstate commerce selling marijuana. That makes federal law applicable.

That means they are committing a potential federal felony.
Did the workers know the operation was illegal, assuming it was? The owners certainly did. Were they beaten and gassed?
Doesn't matter. Employing child labor is illegal. Employing persons not eligible to work in the US is illegal. The owners deserve to be federally charged in this too and hit for a myriad of felonies.

What kind of parents brings their kids to a) a protest b) to work? Should they not be in school?

What if one of the parents was working there? I'm sure you'd agree that even children would do a lot to try to ensure that one of their parents doesn't get carted away.

Agreed. Have you presented any evidence that this farm employed child labor?

And, as I stated earlier, the number varies between 9 and 14 depending on the source.

Total arrests at the site of illegals was between 200 and 300, again depending on source. This included a number of convicted criminals and at least one convicted child sex offender.

Again, the kids should be in school not at a protest and not at their parents job.
