Russia's LAVROV SLAMS EU Leaders for Ignoring Security Concerns!

Sergey Lavrov has proposed that guarantees for Ukraine should be provided by US, Russia, China, France and Germany as they are permanent members of the UN Security Council. Politico reports that Moscow and Beijing being involved in the process of security guarantees for Ukraine is a non-starter. Sergey Lavrov has also made a reference to the Monroe Doctrine. The Coalition of the Willing has stated numerous times that they are ready to deploy peacekeeping troops in Ukraine when a ceasefire takes place. The EU leaders also advocate for an immediate ceasefire so that negotiations can begin. EU leaders are also asking Trump do deploy the F35 fighter jets to Romania, in an attempt to deter a future Russian invasion. Polish PM Donald Tusk has shown skepticism to a Putin - Zelensky meeting taking place in Budapest, referencing the 1994 Budapest Memorandum.

Reuters has reported that the US has offered financial incentives to Russia in order to bring Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table. According to Reuters, the US has proposed the return of Exxon Mobil to the Sakhalin-1 project. Furthermore, the US is looking into purchasing nuclear icebreakers from Russia in order to develop the Arctic region together. The US seems to be ready to support European peacekeepers in Ukraine with ISR. EU Commission has reminded Ukraine that it takes unanimous support from the EU Member States in order for Ukraine to join the European Union. This comes in the light of the latest attacks on the Druzhba oil pipeline carried out by Ukraine, which have a negative impact on Hungary. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó and Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban have both given strong statements and have warned Zelensky and have urged him to stop. Deepstate has reported that the Russians have occupied two settlements in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, but just a few hours later the Ukrainian General Staff has denied the claim. The officials have stated that fighting is indeed taking place in the area, but the Russian attacks have been kept at bay for the moment.

This is a NATO/Russia war.....Russia is not interested to say the least in European armies in the Rump of Ukraine

The peace deal that almost got signed April 2022 did include peace keeping forces, it was envisioned that these would be Indian, Japanese and Chinese.

Russia is likely still OK with that.

I think they're -interested-, it's just not going to change Russia' stance on accomplishing its goals in Ukraine.
The failing West spends so much time arguing with themselves.....the chances that the Russians allow this near zero.....it is yet more yap.

I've said many times that I believe that the only thing that would stop Russia in Ukraine would be a nuclear war with the U.S., at which point everyone, other than the Ukrainians themselves, will have more pressing concerns then what's happening in Ukraine. Trump, for all his failings, seems to be figuring this out, which I believe is why he's trying a more conciliatory approach with them.

Trump is trying to get this over without him being blamed for losing this war, a war America demanded.

Agreed, while at the same time not escalating things to a nuclear war. It's a pretty fine balancing act. If I had become President of the U.S. when Trump did, I would have stopped funding the war in Ukraine on day 1 -and- prohibited anyone buying U.S. weapons to send to Ukraine as well, political consequences be damned. Ofcourse, that's probably why someone like me would probably never be the leader of a country.

Trump could have taken us out immediately as he claimed he wanted to do....but he is far too weak for that...he refuses to make a decision and stick with it even on those rare occasions that he can be bothered to think ahead.

As a U.S. President, fully committing to exiting the war in Ukraine might be political suicide at this point in time. If I were the U.S. President, I simply wouldn't care, but I suspect any actual U.S. President wouldn't be so sanguine about it.

As someone recently pointed out with Trump there is no strategy....often there is almost no thinking.....he is instinctively surfing the waves as they come....sure of his greatness.

Butler made it worse.

The Wall Street Mafia, who even now tries to extend this war thinking it will eventually hurt Russia even though to this point it has done the opposite, no doubt made this clear to Trump.

Which included "Remember Butler".

I suspect Trump has doubts about his alleged greatness. I suppose I should be thankful that he at least had that summit with Putin in Alaska. It may not seem like that much yet, but with enough time, that may change. I made another thread today on how that step may ultimately lead to better Russia/U.S. relations in the long term here:

I have no use for Patrick Lawrence....all too often he has no idea what he is talking about.

I think what the U.S. and the rest of the West has done -has- hurt Russia, but hurt in the way a bear is hurt when you poke it sufficiently with a sharp stick- certainly enough to make it angry, but nowhere near a lethal blow. Which is a good thing, considering the dead hand:

Trump's efforts to reach some type of deal with Russia, while frequently clumsy, at least appear to be genuine. I think that Trump and his Administration are getting a much better idea of what it will take for a peace deal to finally be reached with Russia at this point.

Looks like we disagree on Patrick Lawrence then. I will say that I don't think I've ever heard him in a podcast though- as you know, I prefer to stick to articles.
