The Chinese Disease killed a lot of people. There's little to question why they allowed their disease turned loose on the world.
They lied in the beginning, claiming there's nothing to worry about until it was (unknowing to the world) spread throughout the world.
They claimed it came from a bat shitting on a fish at a fish market, that is until the world found out they released their disease from a
lab funded in part by Fauci. Fauci, in the beginning, also claimed it wasn't something to worry about.
Sadly, no one has held the Chinese Government accountable for their lies and the millions of deaths caused by the laboratory release of the their disease. Improve life for their people? Nah, they couldn't care less.
The project was funded by America.....the people who did it were trained by America.

The US has one of the best road systems in the world. It has a highly efficient cargo train system. The airplane / airport system is efficient and even profitable for airlines. Commuter rail works in very limited corridors on the two coasts where you have high density (for the US) populations in cities.
The highest density cities in the US don't come close to urban densities in Europe or Asia and likely never will, at least for the foreseeable future. Travel distances in Europe and Asia are generally a fraction of what they are in the US. So, what works in Europe or Asia doesn't mean it will work in the US.
China is finding out the hard way with HSR that it doesn't work on the scale they're building it to.

I only gave a sample of a broad number of sources saying the same thing. Chinese cities are in decline and China itself is headed towards a financial trainwreck.
Beijing has the cash to survive a global economic collapse. The west is desperate for a nuclear WW3 thinking we will win. I'm not so sure.

Well, all that is bullshit too. China is expansionist at the moment. They're trying to wrest Scarbough Shoal from the Philippines, reincorporate Taiwan into their fold, take the Japanese owned Senkaku Islands from that country, building military bases in places like Cambodia, Mozambique, and Tanzania. They've pretty much openly declared that the S. China Sea is "theirs" and "territorial" waters even if they haven't tried overtly to impose that on the world, yet.
Their military is expanding at a massive rate reminiscent of the 1930's with the various Axis powers, USSR, and Japan.
China recently signed a new trade deal with South Korea and Japan. They see the US as being way too unstable.
High speed rail is slower than air travel- but significantly more expensive.
I encourage China to focus on it.
