The Trump DoJ is completely incompetent.

The first instance is probably the most famous.

Sandwich guy.

They sent a heavily armed swat team to arrest him and then posted the video on the whitehouse X site.

They tried to charge him with a felony but couldn't get a grand jury to do it.

Finally, when they tried to convict him of a misdemeanor the jury found that no one was actually in danger as required by the law they tried to use.

There have been so many instances of the Trump Dept of Justice filing charges or attempting to file charges and then failing miserably when the actual facts come out I decided to start a thread to make a record of some of those failures.
The Trump DOJ, is not about justice, but it's about settling old scores with Trump political enemies.

Then just today they have filed to drop the charges in at least three other cases.

First is Dana Briggs.

Briggs was charged with violently striking a federal officer. Here is the video. The complaint says that when Briggs was passing his cell phone to another person he violently hit an officer in the process. Look for yourself.

Then after setting a trial date of Nov 20 and going through the jury instructions, witness lists and all other pretrial preperation, the government filed to dismiss all charges on Nov 20 before the start of the trial.

I wouldn't fault the DOJ for jury nullification .

the shit stains gonna stain shit. You get enough of them together and they would let Kirk's killer walk too. They have even turned Luigi Mangione into a hero.....we will see if those convictions stick

Pammi will probably be disbarred. While Pedo Don will probably pardon her for all federal charges, the odds are good he’ll fuck her over financially just like he has everyone else in his life.

She’ll leave DC broke from legal fees and no one will hire her except as an escort. Her best shot at a post-Trump future is a tell-all book…after Donnie croaks from heart failure.

She will probably lose her law license, just like Jenna Elias, and Ghouliani.

Second dismissal today is the case against Marimar Marintez.

Martinez is the woman that DHS said was so threatening in her vehicle that they shot her five times.
They initially claimed she boxed them in and rammed the CBP vehicle.

According to the eight-page criminal complaint, the civilian vehicle “drove aggressively and erratically towards” the federal agents’ vehicles, disobeyed stop signs, red lights and drove “the wrong way down one-way streets in order to pursue the CBP vehicles.”

When the agents’ vehicle neared 39th Street and Kedzie Avenue, civilian vehicles boxed them in, and Martinez drove her vehicle up along the driver’s side of one of the agent’s vehicles, according to the charges. That’s when Martinez’s vehicle sideswiped the federal vehicle, and Ruiz’s vehicle struck the rear-right end of the federal vehicle, the charges state.

The trial was scheduled to occur on 2/2/2026.

Then today, the prosecutor files to dismiss all charges.

Apparently, Trump prefers obedient lackeys to do his bidding rather than competent and ethical people to administer justice.
Correct. Otherwise he’ll threaten to have you executed. You know, like a King or dictator would do.
This is why I have no sympathy for what happens to MAGAts put down by their families and/or neighbors.

MAGAts are the enemy within.

President Donald Trump on Thursday called several Democratic veterans "traitors" who should face the death penalty for releasing a joint video where they said that U.S. service members could refuse illegal orders -- a move that has prompted some lawmakers to call the president's rhetoric "dangerous" and "a threat."

It seems you don't quite understand what a jury is.
When a case is dismissed before it even gets to trial there is no jury. When the prosecutor moves to drop the case, it isn't the fault of some LW judge.

the sandwich throwing case went to trial

derp derp

it seems you don't understand all the cases you talked about

Then there is the case of Sidney Lori Reid.
Reid's case was presented three times to a grand jury in DC and three times they refused to indict.
The DoJ then decided to try Reid with a misdemeanor.

Reid went to trial.
Some of the things that came out
The agent supposedly injured referred to the scrape as a boo-boo
The Feds failed to turn over all video evidence to the defense.

In the end Reid was found to be not guilty by the jury.

Yes. It did. But you are wrong about jury nullification. The law he was charged with requires threat of injury. The jury felt that a sandwich thrown against a bulletproof vest doesn't pose a threat of injury. That is a reasonable conclusion.

you mean the jury that you just said didn't exist

More than 50 people have faced federal charges in Washington, D.C., since President Donald Trump’s emergency law-and-order surge began last month. Already, prosecutors have dropped at least 11 of those cases, an unusually high collapse rate that judges say is wasting court resources.

[snip]
One of the cases Sharbaugh dismissed involved Scott Pichon, accused of spitting on two members of the South Carolina Army National Guard outside Union Station on Aug. 22. Prosecutors dropped the felony assault count and instead charged him with misdemeanors in D.C. Superior Court, which handles local criminal matters.

The other case was against Paul Nguyen, accused of assaulting a federal agent who tried to break up a street fight on Aug. 23. Prosecutors abandoned that felony entirely, and Nguyen isn’t facing any new charges.
