Thanksgiving 2025

I hate Thanksgiving! I eat like a horse and sit down to watch football, all the time bitching this is gonna cost me 10 lbs.
The GF has a large family and everyone brings something. I got 2 rings of bologna and 3 kinds of cheese. GF is baking
her pumpkin pie. There's gonna be more selections there than I can name.
BTW, the bologna prices were the same as last year, so was the cheese.

Happy Thanksgiving! Sound wonderful...I'm putting the ring Bologna snd cheeses on my list for Christmas.... My produce lady brings that in from the
Amish just north of here....

THANKSGIVING is by far my favorite holiday, although I do eat too much.

I prefer to roast my own turkey...and do it Missionary Position. (Normal breast up.) I tried the spatchcock a few years back...and did not like how it turned out. My roasting pan was not big enough for the spatchcock position.

My results are just about always excellent.

Mushroom soup to start...then the turkey with stuffing, roasted white potatoes/marshmellowed sweet potatoes, and asparagus will be this years fare.

I love eggnog...and my wife makes great cookies for after dinner.

And LOTS of football games.

My best wishes to everyone...and their families.

I'm dreading the Chiefs coming to town in TG day. Maybe we will have divine intervention two weeks in a row.

Yes roasting turkey in the prone position cooks the thighs and breast more evenly and results in a juicer bird. What kind of stuffing to you use. Your menu sounds great.

Don't eat too much and not be able to fit in the Cobra.

I got a dozen tamales for $20. The locals won't eat that crap but I will.
What kind of tamales?

My dad was on a low fat diet . My mom who was a great cook perfected low fat tamales. They were great and didn't leave a greasy taste in your mouth. A Mexican friend of her's no longer made tamales for her husband due to the fat. So she came over to mom's house and learned how to make low-fat tamales. She remarked that she hoped her friend didn't find out that a White Lady taught her to make tamales

I'm sure the masa is loaded with lard. The shelves were empty so I grabbed what was left. $112 for 3 small bags of groceries. I have enough tamales to last me until Thanksgiving.

Fairly usual stuffing...with some giblets and chestnuts to give it a bit of taste.

The Boys have got their hands full with Mahomes and his gang coming to your town. Gonna be a good game. My mind is on the Ohio State - Michigan college game on Saturday, though. That should be a barn burner.
