Only an idiot calls subject matter experts "irrelevant". You clearly have never taken a political science course in your entire life. Why are you on this board?
Only an idiot takes someone claiming expertise at their word. I'm glad I've never taken a political science course given that's one of the easiest, if not the easiest, liberal arts degrees in existence. It's the one many law students take to get a good GPA for Liar... Law school.
Why are you on this board, to give people the finger? That seems to be about all you do.
Nationalism is part of right wing politics. Full stop.
No, it's not. There is no empirical or quantifiable data to make that statement off of. It's basically a SWAGPOOYA and nothing more.
Racism is not exclusively right wing, but in modern Western politics, explicit racism, white supremacy, and nativism are predominantly associated with far right and right wing extremist ideologies. That is a fact.
If anything, the Left is far more racist than the Right. The Left usually codifies racism into law and then ruthlessly applies it. CRT, affirmative action, disparate impact theory... The Left creates all sorts of racist shit.
Anti-democratic tendencies are found across the political spectrum, but in contemporary American politics, they are strongly associated with the right, manifesting as challenges to democratic norms, right wing authoritarianism, prioritizing strong leadership over institutions, and promoting systems that favor conservative power. Left wing anti-democratic views do not focus on strongman rule. Read a book.
Other way around. The Democrats have a long history of subverting democratic elections in the US. Tammany Hall, the Daley machine in Chicago, Huey Long, to name a few. Those are all your "strongman rule" in action. Maduro in Venezuela subverted elections with massive fraud. The Democrats recently tried to increase their ability to subvert elections with legislation like the For the Voter's and John Lewis Voter's acts.
The Left seeks to obtain, then consolidate power followed by instituting laws that prevent them from being turned out of office.
Authoritarianism is a political system focused on strong central power and limited individual freedoms. Those things are associated with the right wing, especially in Western contexts, due to links with traditionalism, nationalism, and order.
Authoritarianism is central to Leftist politics. Without significant control and power they cannot implement socialist programs. They can't centralize power in their hands. They can't take over the economy. The Right doesn't want a dictatorship, the Left does.
Socialism and communism are not the same things. Socialism aims for social ownership of production within democratic systems. Communism seeks a stateless, classless society through revolution, resulting in authoritarian state control.
They are. Communism is just a variant of Socialism. It's one of many types. What you describe as Communism in your last sentence IS a form of Socialism. Socialism, in any form, seeks to place control of the economy to one degree or another in the hands of the government and expects the population to act altruistically. Socialism cannot work if the population is not altruistic either by choice or force. Since altruism is counterintuitive to human nature, Socialism must be forced on the population and the only way to do that is institute an authoritarian, central, dictatorship over society.
Fascism and socialism are fundamentally different. Socialism seeks collective ownership to replace capitalism. Fascism uses state power to control private enterprise for nationalistic goals. Fascism is extremely far right, again characterized by nationalism, authoritarian rule, militarism, suppression of opposition, and prioritizing the nation over the individual. That is the opposite of liberalism, democracy, and communism.
Fascism is not an economic system. Fascism uses Socialism just like Communism does as its economic system. That Fascism chooses to use statist capitalism--like China does today, and yes China is now Fascist rather than Communist even if they say otherwise--as opposed to some other form of Socialism doesn't change that it's using Socialism.
A belief in social hierarchy is a core characteristic of the political right. They believe that hierarchies are natural, inevitable, and desirable. The left emphasizes equality.
This is untrue. The difference between the Right and Left here is the Right seeks equality in liberty and equality of opportunity while the Left seeks equality through repression and servitude.
That is, the Right sees this as you are born equal and have the opportunity and liberty to succeed or fail on your own merits. Outcomes are neither guaranteed nor will they be equal. This means you can soar to new heights or end up penniless, but you get to choose.
On the Left, equality is forced by government through laws that restrain those that can do more and achieve more while giving those that do little or achieve nothing an equal share. Outcomes are guaranteed and equal. This means the best and brightest are held down and society devolves to the least common denominator.
I'll let go violence because neither end of the political spectrum has a monopoly on its use.
That I can agree to.
Literally everything you said (except my exclusion for violence) is wrong. You don't understand politics. You don't understand history. You are a mindless regurgitator of cultist talking points that you try to dress up with words that evidence a total misunderstanding of what you're discussing.
Literally everything you said is wrong. You don't understand politics in any sort of organized fashion using any sort of empirical, quantitative, data. You simply parrot what other mindless academics and know-nothings have said.
