Democratic Socialist Demands Free Housing

The current war isn't "illegal." You might vehemently disagree with it, but it isn't illegal. The money being used for it, beyond normal operating costs of the military is really trivial compared to say what's paid out already a year in Medicaid / Medicare benefits for example. So, you are starting with a drop in a 5-gallon bucket of needed funding.
Only Congress can declare war.

Only Congress can declare war.
Congress gave the President authority to conduct short wars, or even start them under the War Powers Act.

Aside from that, as we know from LBJ's time in office, a President can blatantly lie to a friendly Congress and get a resolution for war passed (the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution) after using the War Powers act.

They did not.
With the War Powers Resolution's passing, both the deployment of troops to conflict and the stationing of troops past 60 days would now need prior congressional approval. The president would now need to routinely consult with Congress for the duration of the conflict. The resolution is considered to be a critically important bill in reestablishing congressional capabilities. As of March 2026 the War Powers Resolution Reporting Project lists 132 times presidents have submitted "48 hour reports."

War Powers Act is a violation of the US Constitution

Great time for the tiny houses.
Except they're heavily regulated to the point where they are virtually impossible to build in California.

They are generally classified as ADU's (Auxiliary Dwelling Units) sometimes called "Mother-in-law" houses or "She sheds." Most homeowners aren't going to put one on their property with an existing home because as a rental it devalues the property to most buyers.

At some point, we must all acknowledge that some day soon...there will be so few jobs humans can do productively enough to pay them a "living wage" for doing it, that...that the notion "one must earn one's living" HAS TO BE DISCARDED.
This is a stupid statement. Sure, at some point, but you describe a point that will not occur before the universe dies a heat death.

I understand that you do not think.
Of course, the standard Frank Apisa "forfeit" pivot.

We have a legislature that sets the figures for what each of us pays.

If you want to disregard that...fine with me. But you could end up in prison...although that happens infrequently.
Of course, the standard Frank Apisa "weasel" pivot. The topic is "what constitutes 'fair'" and Frank shifts gears to "what the unfair law is."

If you want to argue with them ...
Of course, the Frank Apisa "try to toss the monkey onto someone else's back" pivot. He has no response, so he tells gfm7175 to argue with Congress. Brilliant.

Well, it's good to see that Frank is still consistent, i.e. totally dishonest throughout every post.

That isn't an answer, it's dodging the question. Where does the money come from to pay for this?

That is an answer...and I am not responsible if you are too stupid to realize that. Go get educated and then come back. Maybe then you can discuss things intelligently.
I don't want to create a society that coddles lazy, non-productive people. There are many ways to be productive beyond being some worker on an assembly line or a code monkey. AI won't take a vast number of jobs anytime in the near future either. For example, in the US there are millions jobs open in the trades.

What you want, T. A. is to have lazy, non-productive people be part of our productivity force. You said so. Own your bullshit. No need to be like Trump with that kind of nonsense.

AI isn't doing those jobs. They require people. The problem is, in the US, we've pushed the idea that you have to go to college and get a degree to get ahead. Well folks, many of those so-called college degree jobs are going away. AI is taking them over. But there's a need for electricians, welders, plumbers, and carpenters, among other trade jobs that often pay as well or better than being a code monkey with a tech degree does. We'd see far more productivity if we told those lazy fucks to get off their dead asses and work for a living or they don't eat.

Yup. You want those lazy, non-productive people to be part of our work-force. That is what I said.

Also, the same question remains: If we are just to feed, house, and clothe the non-productive, WHERE DOES THE MONEY TO DO THAT COME FROM?
Already asked...already answered.

Slavery. Now tell me what gives someone a right to another person's labor.
So you think it is slavery when a government redistributes money...the way EVERY government on this planet does.

That is very interesting, Boy.

You ought to shine that up a bit...and shove it where nature will not tarnish it.

Not at all what I said, or what we were discussing. But if course libs are incapable of having an honest discussion free of deflection and attempts at diversion.

Your original claim was that food, clothing, shelter, and healthcare are all human rights. So I'll ask you again, for the third time, what gives a person the right to someone else's labor?

It certainly is what you implied. You implied that EVERY PERSON in the United States except those who pay no taxes...ARE SLAVES.

But if course libs are incapable of having an honest discussion free of deflection and attempts at diversion.

I am not a liberal...so tell that to people who do identify as liberals. I disagree with it completely, but let them deal with it.

In light of that thought, though, a comment about MAGA morons seems appropriate. Never in the 2 1/2 centuries of our country's history has there ever been a more moronic, short-sighted, dishonest, deflective bunch of assholes pretending to be a reasonable political movement.

Your original claim was that food, clothing, shelter, and healthcare are all human rights. So I'll ask you again, for the third time, what gives a person the right to someone else's labor?
My claim was, "Basic needs like food, clothing, shelter, education and healthcare ARE human rights...and in a country as wealthy as ours, should be guaranteed for EVERY individual."

I stand by that claim.

You are essentially asking, if that is so, what gives a person the right to someone else's labor?

You might just as well ask, "If that is so, what gives a person the right to require we all wear orange tee shirts."

Can you honestly not see the disconnect, Boy? Your question is a non-sequitur.

Arrange what you want to know in some sort of logical, coherent way and I will attempt to deal with it. (I'll use as many short words as possible...and throw in a few pictures if reasonable.

That is your right. But it must be excruciating torture to be you.
Yes, it is my right to acknowledge the torture that dem governor newscum has leveled on
the homeless people of that state of kalifornicator. And yes, it must be excruciating torture for those homeless people, and perhaps torture for most of the dems in that state who voted for that sick newscum, while watching that state sink into the abyss of no return.

Acknowledge whatever you want.

It must still be torture to be you.
