I am surprised anyone is voting for them, all you have to do is listen to them and be afraid!I'm really surprised at how thoroughly the anti-masturbation religious right wing has co-opted the Tea Bag Party.
And equally surprised at how many "socially liberal" alleged independent conservatives are providing cover and making excuses for these extremist religious crack pots!

They have no substance, but that is the politicians of today.
I just posted it. I like Alternet, color guilty!I'm digging that you read AlterNet....cheers!
I saw something, I think it was on alternet, written by the co-founder of the Tea Bag Party, who was lamenting the take-over of his movement by pro-witchcraft, anti-masturbation religious wingnuts.
Oh well, as the Shrub-ites said about the missing WMD: who could have ever predicted!

Which one of us responding to this belongs to any particular party? I just want the adults back in politics and not the nutcases. You go on and support the nut jobs and when they don't do your bidding, either, we'll talk! They never seem to be as good as you wish!Oh man, you guys are SOOOooo FUNNY when you're getting trounced!
The Tea Party has never been in 'solidarity' as a group. There are a variety of opinions and ideas encompassed in the Tea Party, and not a defined Tea Party "platform" as much as you libtards wish that were the case. Yes, I know, this makes it very difficult to attack them on specifics by spreading propaganda, disinformation, and outright lies and distortions of what they advocate, and relegates you to throwing mud and attacking on a personal level, like a bunch of sour-grapes 7th graders, but that's the deal here.
Let me throw you all a bone here, since you seem to be grasping at anything you can, to combat the overwhelming tsunami of support for the Tea Party... You need to just assume the Tea Party is diametrically opposed to the Socialist Marxist form of government you are in favor of. That's the bottom line. If you want to attack them, do it by promoting Socialism and Marxism over Capitalism and Conservatism. Tell the people why Socialist-Marxist policies are better for America, and why we should abandon our core principles of Capitalism and free market economics. Because, that is what the argument is here, not whether someone dabbled in wicca in high school.
Time is running out... you need to get busy focusing on the argument, and stop this silly game playing. Take a look at the polls, you are going down like Britney Spears on her 4th honeymoon, and nothing you are trying is working anymore... the Blame Bush Magic Dust has lost its potency, and is no longer working in your favor. Bashing Sara Palin isn't working either, it's only driving her poll numbers higher. If I were you guys, I would get my ass on message and quick, before it's too late... (if it's not already too late.)

One of the reasons they're attacked is precisely because they have no defined platform, and instead rely on inflammatory sound bites as message.
"Smaller government." Those words are meaningless without specifics.
"Take back our country." Arrogant, presumptuous and again without specifics.
Tea people are clueless as to the true definitions of socialism and Marxism. I doubt that the tiniest percentage of them read and understood Das Kapital. It's just buzz words getting them all fearful that revolution is around the corner.
Wicca isn't the primary reason people are criticizing O'Donnell.
Two months is a lifetime when it comes to politics. Two months before election day 2008 is when McCain edged in front of Obama for about an hour and a half. So if I were you, I wouldn't be so confident in counting those chickens before they hatch.
Dixie, you're not getting rid of RHINOs.
You're getting rid of conservatives, and exchanging them for far rightwing teabagging nut jobs. Murkowski and Bennet are hardly RHINOs.
Christine O'Donnell, Rand Paul, the Miller dude in Alaska, and the porn-addict dude in New York are the Tea Bag Party's major contributions to american democracy so far. Truly embarrassing
This doesn't surrpise me. While the "independent", "I might even vote for a democrat" cyber conservatives were running cover and providing excuses for the tea bag party, most of the rest of us sentient beings knew what the deal was. The Tea Bag party is the party of theocrats and neocons. Is any sentient person shocked?
The vote to repeal DADT failed in the Senate today, and every single republican voted against letting gays serve openly in the military. There are no RHINOs. If and when you get your tea baggers in congress, you dudes will probably try to pass a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.
So good luck with your tea bag extremism. Y'all can win seats in a low turnout, anti-incumbent election cycle. But, I agree with Mott. This level of extremism is going to hurt the GOP in the long run.
Good luck with your anti-masturbation and anti-gay marriage constitutional amemdments!
Hey, they were the ones who were proud of that derogatory name!Did you not get the memo from the DNC? It's no longer appropriate to use the derogatory term "teabagger" when referring to the TEA Party Movement. Reason being, it is causing even more divisiveness and animosity among those you are trying to win back over to your side. You're now supposed to be acting all 'respectful' and shit, and not making the snide comments anymore. I thought you were up to speed with this stuff?
In any event, we think what we want to ban first, is liberal shitheads like you... we want to put you on a ship and sail you off into oblivion, never to be heard from again. Then, we are going to burn all books by Liberal Marxist Socialists, and all movies by Micheal Moore. Afterward, we plan to burn Rachel Madcow at the stake, along with Hillary. Then we'll probably appoint Rush Limbaugh the King, and live happily ever after. Hope you enjoyed this little fairy-tale bedtime story, sleep well pinhead!
Oh, we know they are a movement! I have those everyday!LOL. People still think of it as a political party rather than a movement named after an historical event. That is amusing.
There have always been disparate groups in the TEA Party movement. I think that the religious right saw the success and tried to take them over like they did the party. Shame that.
Oh, we know they are a movement! I have those everyday!![]()
I walked into that one, good one!Every time your mouth opens!![]()
Its funny that the Tea Party is not a unified party when someone talks bad about it, but is going to save the country when talking good about it.
The tea party can take all the shits it wants, but evaporates when someone wants to hold them accountable or to take shots back.

You seems to know so much more about the Tea Party then the actual founders, you are so so so "mazing!"
I always appreciate these little zingers you throw in that seem to address your own behavior more than it does others! You are one of those that throw their own under the bus to save them from the oncoming car!
Dixie's song: "relegates you to throwing mud and attacking on a personal level, like a bunch of sour-grapes 7th graders, but that's the deal here."
Both systems have their virtues, can't we compromise between the two? Why does there have to be a choice between what is moral and what is benefits all?
