The Con-Con

Loyal to the end
For those of you who haven't been following, we have been two states shy of holding a Constitutional Convention, and that was prior to The Obama's shellacking. At least 54 State legislative bodies will be switching from Democrat to Republican, so it should be easy to get two more states to sign in. Not only that but Conservatism has been revived, so these States would undoubtedly be voting to reign in the Federal government.

Some amendments that I'd like to see are enumerated powers, term limits, only voters can make campaign contribution, elimination of corporate taxes, balanced budget and Fair or flat tax. That would eliminate a large portion of the bloated federal government, reduce and gradually eliminate the debt and send the economy on a rocketing path of growth.

Didn't I read something about one of the leaders in the Tea Party being in favor of only allowing land owners to vote.

LOL!
Lofty goals, considering Teabaggers are there to represent corporate interests. You really think they are going to govern? They will spend their time trying to dig dirt on Obama and impeach him. They will not limit their own terms, or change any taxes that don't give the rich more bonuses. They will oppose anything Obama does to try to make him look bad for the 2012 election. Even if it means people in this country get hungry.

Why would you care about debt? Didn't Reagan and Cheney say that deficits don't matter? You believed it then and voted for them, now you've flipped flopped? We've followed their conservative trickle down method for 30 years and we can see what it's brought us. Teabaggers don't have a chance in hell to do anything except fall in lockstep with their neocon masters.

LOL only voter can contribute. Tell that to the Supreme court and their Citizens United ruling. The teaparty is pissing down your neck and calling it rain.

Oh look, another Liberal Democrat wanting to talk about a sex act so perverted that only Liberal Democrats knew about it until lately. Sorry, but this is a political discussion.

Two paragraphs and all you see is that one word? I think that speaks volumes.

Once an opponent uses disgusting sexual terms to describe his opponent, further debate is unnecessary. It's like someone using the race card, comparing them to Hitler, or using the term "nigger". Thus Crashk FAILS predictably...

I'll continue to use the term teabaggers until you quit calling it the Democrat Party.

Now read the rest of my post and debate what I said or shut your pie hole.

enumerated powers, with an emphasis on the 9th and 10th amendments. It needs to be unequivocally stated that intrastate commerce is not interstate commerce as well as the federal government having ZERO police powers.

edited to add:

just because an item is bought in one state and then moves to another in the possession of a citizen does not make it subject to federal regulation using the commerce clause.

Do these ridiculous people have anything that might stand as a manifesto or a policy document or anything that has been written down in complete sentences?
Does anyone know what they really want and what they don't like (in complete sentences) about any existing party or organisation?
Please tell me because we poor suffering non americans are under the distinct impression that they have an extremely limited political vocabulary.

Talking about the commerce clause considering Christmas is just around the corner the least the government could do is include a Santa clause exemption. :D

Tea Party leader says only property owners should vote

December 1st, 2010 by John Grooms

The group called Tea Party Nation has its own weekly radio show. ThinkProgress is reporting that during a recent show, the president of Tea Party Nation (TPN), Judson Phillips, declared that voting rights in America should be restricted to property owners. That’s how the Founding Fathers wanted it, says Phillips, and “that makes a lot of sense, because if you’re a property owner, you actually have a vested stake in the community.” That’s the Tea Party Nation, folks: Building a bridge to the 18th century."

"...According to this Tea Party leader, if you rent your house or apartment, then you should not have the right to vote. In his worldview, you simply do not count as much as the homeowners next door. Presumably, if you once owned your house, but lost it in bankruptcy or foreclosure, well then you will probably lose the right to vote as well."

Looks like the tea party is finally showing their corporate colors.

Once only landowners can vote then the restriction will be only landowners who own at least $10mil worth of property can vote. Then only landowners who pledge money to the party can vote.

It's interesting to finally see exactly what the tea party stands for.

Tea party voters should realize they just stepped in shit.
