i have friends in alaska that are dems and they hate black people, jews, arabs, therefore that proves that the large majority of dems are racist

Folks, if one looks for something, one can find it, and if one is a birdbrain they can arrive at stupid conclusions, as Yurt and Damn Yankee do, almost daily. Please excuse them, they are modern students of right wing propaganda and have no idea what a big word like stereotype even means.

The psychological term for conservatives of the likes of Yurt and Damn Yankee is Dunning–Kruger effect, and guys if you need help, ask mommy to look up any words you have trouble with.

Growing up, most of my elders were union dems, and they and their friends hated none white people. I also have learned over the years that there's a great number of racists in the northeast.

What's funny is how many black racists there are.

The Democratic South, the "Solid South" and many of them left in 1964 and joined the Republican party. Thomas Jefferson argued that slavery was good for the Republic, many argue that the young country would not have succeeded without it. Woodrow Wilson was a racist.

The along came a long tall Texan and he changed that and it is now the party for the minorities more so than the Republicans, but hopefully, we will see other parties step it up while people continue to grow dissatisfied with
both parties. Maybe these other parties will truly represent ALL people and ALL people's rights.

It is my hope for this country, call it my Christmas wish. I am putting it out there into the Universe, may the Goddess embrace it!

Because they recognize the democratic party is the world's foremost authority on using bogus programs to keep minorities down and dependent on government while claiming to help them.
 
It's possible that the OP was a joke. I don't see how knowing a few people who are racists can be extrapolated into a generalization.
 
I truly have to agree and I am guilty of generalizations, it is mostly to incite a reaction. My family is full of Republicans and they are not racist by a long shot, it is also unfair to say the majority of people are racist. I don't truly believe that either, but to deny that there are prejudices and that we all have them is just a lie. I do see more racists claiming to be Republicans. Now, all my commence to beat me about the head.

My generalizations are just to start conversations, but often end up inflaming people and I should not do that, or at least include a smiley face! I also make comments to cawacko that are sarcastic, it is hard to display sarcasm on here at times.

I am sure that is how you see it, but I think there are many people who disagree with you.

There are always people who abuse the system, but for the most part, the programs have benefited a group of people who needed a hand up!
 
I'm puzzled. While there are and have been racists in both parties, how can anyone claim that the "majority" of a party are racists without some sort of corroborating evidence which can be impartially verified?

I don't see that in this debate.
