Black GOP Official Resigns, Citing Arizona Tea Party Threats

Here's the old "it's different for them than it is for us" argument. I knew this argument would come about as soon as I read cawacko's post. Surprised it took this long. If the guy resigned for fear of violence (and it appears that this is the reason)....fine. I hate that he felt that threatened. If he resigned solely because some nitwit called him someone's boy...his skin is too thin.

For months now one side has seen the surge of the Tea Party's support and they are fighting back the only way they know how it seems (otherwise they'd resort to better tactics). The seem to be trying to paint all of them into a neat little box as racist, gun-toting, slobbering idiots blindly following the commands and directions of Sarah Palin and the like.

I think this mantra by the left ... I think it's gonna backfire....and I am not real happy about that. I like some of what the TP stands for but having either side completely in control right now wouldn't be a good thing, IMO.

This is the good ole USA, all Tea Party members are bad, all Muslims are bad, all liberals are bad, all conservatives are bad, all rappers are bad, the list goes on and on.

I composed my own title. And you cut out the 'Citing Arizona Tea Party Threats'...WHY is that Yurt?

My focus, and the bulk of the excerpts I posted from the articles was on the threats of VIOLENCE. The fact that he is black is only important for the context of being called someone's 'boy'.

the tea party part is wholly irrelevant to you making this about race...tff how you want to deflect away from YOU making it about race...

you changed the title and made it about a BLACK gop official....why was it necessary to make his race known in your title? you didn't need to focus on his race, but you did and then falsely accused me of focusing on it....

thats like me making a title saying "WOMAN driver kills." you would of course be all over me for making it about her gender.

stop being so dishonest, really.

The Tea party made their own bed when their very first convention was kicked off with THIS...

Why are you forming an opinion before all the facts are in?

Isn't that the very thing you spent the entire weekend whining about?

A shame your partisan hacktitude won't allow you to do as you tell others to do...

once again the dishonest whiner rears his ugly head....

if you read the article, numerous people quit and it wasn't about race. further, i am not running around BLAMING anyone, merely giving my opinion about the veracity of his story. huge difference to anyone with two brain cells.

that you don't understand the difference between actually blaming someone with ZERO evidence, and having an opinion as to the veracity of a claim shows me you are stupid.

sorry, but that is just the simple truth.

That was racist? Really? Good grief am I out of touch with reality then. Tell me, what was racist, was it the reference to spelling vote or saying it in English or was it the emphasis on Hussein in President Obama's name?

If people think that was racist...man...I'm speechless.

Yurt, do you have a reading problem or a comprehension problem? I didn't change the title, I composed my own title. I explained WHY his race was ONE important element, because of the racial comments he received. But the threats of violence is why he resigned...

There is racism and then there's playing the race card in the context of partisanship. I'd argue brgrn is doing the latter.

Welcome to your Democrat Party. :)

I don't, I find that laughable!

Welcome to your Democrat Party. :)

I'm gonna pull a desh here. It's "Democratic" party, thank you very much. :)

Now, let me address this. The democratic party around here is nothing like the Bfgrn, Tachiliberal or DrWho's of this board. So "my" Democratic Party still looks OK to me.

There's nothing democratic about the Democrat Party. I'm a member of the Republican Party not the "Republicanatic" Party. The Democrat Party is comprised of Democrats not "Democratics". Its no surprise to me that you don't understand the Democrat's true, hidden agenda, which is total usurpation of the Constitution. :)

WOW, you folks on the right are really ignorant. It's not my job to educate you, but I'll provide a little guidance...Were you sleeping during history class?

Tom Tancredo Wants to Bring Back Jim Crow Laws

Former Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO) wants a requirement for a civics and literacy test before people are allowed to vote. He told the First National Tea Party Convention last week he “intensely dislikes” John McCain and is glad he lost. Tancredo has also called for the bombing of the Muslim holy sites in Mecca and Medina in retaliation for a future terrorist attack in America.

After the passage of 46 years there is now a small movement to bring back Jim Crow Laws. Former Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO) believes this is a good idea, and is now actively promoting the concept. Jim Crow Laws were literacy tests adopted by Southern states after blacks were granted citizenship rights under the 15th Amendment.

Potential black registrants had to answer difficult questions and were also confronted with a poll tax. Both practices were banned by the Voting Rights Act of 1964, and African American turnout increased by a huge percentage after the restrictions were lifted.

Tancredo does not use the phrase Jim Crow Laws, but instead talks of a literacy and civics test requirement for voters.

And right on cue, ol Yurtsie, whose entire debating technique consists of putting words in other poster's mouths does just that...

Care to show everyone the exact quote where I claimed you were BLAMING anyone?

I merely pointed out that you formed your OPINION before all the facts were in...the very thing you spent the entire weekend whining about.

Please, stop putting words in my mouth and for once try and debate honestly...can you do that bunky?

And Tancredo speaks for everyone with right-leaning beliefs? And therefore everyone with right-leaning beliefs is racist because you believe Tancredo is?

If you don't like my political views, you'll hate the views of Democrats like Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy. Or even the views of Republicans like Dwight Eisenhower and Barry Goldwater.

My views have a LOT of the first two and much of the second two on most issues.

In a word, NO, he is trying to put words into my mouth, Homie don't play that way!

No, but he was the INVITED opening speaker at THIS:

First National Tea Party Convention Kicks off in Nashville

February 5, 2010

Tom Tancredo, former Congressman from Colorado kicked off the First National Tea Party Convention in Nashville, Tennessee with a rousing address to Tea Partiers from across the nation. “I’ve never seen anything like this,” Tancredo announced. “There’s something happening here,” Tancredo went on to say as he referenced year one of the modern Tea Party movement. “Take it back, it’s your nation,” Tancredo told the packed room that erupted in applause.

And Tancredo speaks for everyone with right-leaning beliefs? And therefore everyone with right-leaning beliefs is racist because you believe Tancredo is?

Bfgrn is sounding a lot like a certain leg humping stalker boy that ran away with his tail tucked between his legs after showing the board just how much of a fucking psychotic creep he was.
