It doesn't matter at all from the perspective of "we're all glad we got OBL."

But from an historian's perspective, and the perspective of legacy, it definitely matters. It's like saying "It doesn't matter who ended the Cold War...Carter, Reagan, what's the difference..."

The difference is , Carter didn't even have a tiny part in ending the Cold War.....now if you wanna give JFK a little credit, I can buy that....

Just an example. But I also wouldn't give George "OBL is irrelevant" Bush much credit for this, either...

Any historian that uses a single, biased news story as the basis for documenting historical events isn't worth much.

History has a way of working itself out. This is not about history. This is just whining/bragging or whatever.

Not quite.... we all KNOW Carter had nothing to do with the end of the cold war.... ;)
 
50 years when in only brief stints did we try to use what we learned from hisotry.

Pushing for unfettered capitalism and military agression for business sake is what has caused it.

ROFLMAO.... the irony runs deep with this one.

IKE... a REPUBLICAN... is the one that warned us about the military industrial complex.

KENNEDY and JOHNSON.... TWO DEMOCRATS are the ones that began the tradition of deficit spending on an annual basis as well as getting us heavily involved in Viet Nam.... a war of choice.
 
Bush Sr. and Jr. got us into 3 wars in the Middle East. 1 was left unfinished and the other 2 never seem to end.
