You are a perfect example of the failure of No child left behind.
The dumbing down of the population. Hard to miss something you don't know you have lost.
Answer me this; Do you believe that there is still a presumption of innocence?
I know there is a presumption of innocence, otherwise every person would be stopped on the street while the cops interrogated him to see what they're guilty of.
The problem from the system's perspective is this. Cops want to clear cases so they have to make an arrest, they find the suspect that looks like they done it, then they make that arrest. They see it simply that they've found the person who most likely "done it" and then they leave it to the courts to hammer out innocence or guilt.
This in itself is not a problem, you arrest the guy who has the most evidence pointing at them. Fine
Then you move on to the prosecution system, prosecutors want to win, they want to have the highest conviction rate in their group so they can move up the ladder and stay employed. Therefore they make deals, they assume that the person the police arrested is guilty because otherwise why would they be arrested. Then they try to get as much time for the suspect as possible because you don't want criminals on the streets. So now whether or not you're innocent the prosecutor is going to be doing everything they can to make sure you do time.
Then you move on to the corrections system where you spend time among lots of people who've either done crimes or have spent so much time among criminals that they act like them. You learn to either be a victim or a victimizer. Then you get out and bring that mindset back into society and the workforce so nobody will hire you and you're locked back into the victimize others or become a victim mentality.
This is what happens to people who fall through the cracks in the system. There's a gap between police making the arrest of the suspect and the convict who walks out of the court.
Oh and calling me a sheep of the government over and over again isn't an argument, it's a whiny kids refusal to lose.
