But most likely no one is ever going to try and kill you.
I have real stuff to think about.
And the same could be said for any number of other occurrences. But that doesn't stop you from preparing for them.

I know there is a presumption of innocence, otherwise every person would be stopped on the street while the cops interrogated him to see what they're guilty of.
The problem from the system's perspective is this. Cops want to clear cases so they have to make an arrest, they find the suspect that looks like they done it, then they make that arrest. They see it simply that they've found the person who most likely "done it" and then they leave it to the courts to hammer out innocence or guilt.
This in itself is not a problem, you arrest the guy who has the most evidence pointing at them. Fine
Then you move on to the prosecution system, prosecutors want to win, they want to have the highest conviction rate in their group so they can move up the ladder and stay employed. Therefore they make deals, they assume that the person the police arrested is guilty because otherwise why would they be arrested. Then they try to get as much time for the suspect as possible because you don't want criminals on the streets. So now whether or not you're innocent the prosecutor is going to be doing everything they can to make sure you do time.
Then you move on to the corrections system where you spend time among lots of people who've either done crimes or have spent so much time among criminals that they act like them. You learn to either be a victim or a victimizer. Then you get out and bring that mindset back into society and the workforce so nobody will hire you and you're locked back into the victimize others or become a victim mentality.
This is what happens to people who fall through the cracks in the system. There's a gap between police making the arrest of the suspect and the convict who walks out of the court.
Oh and calling me a sheep of the government over and over again isn't an argument, it's a whiny kids refusal to lose.
Another victim of media sensationalizing of crime. Go look up some actual statistics rather than just sit in your house scared of strangers.
According the the UCR there were 17,000 incidents of murder in 2006. A large number however, thats 5.7 per 100,000 in the US. Since a peak in the early 1990's when it was up to almost 10 per 100,000 the number of murder's in relation to the population has actually been decreasing to sit where it is now for about 10 years, again UCR. You can talk about how the times are hard but the stats just don't support you.
Incidentally you're more likely to get murdered in Denver than in New York.
this is the latest liberal talking point. now that your side has actually acknowledged that crime IS going down, it's used as the reasoning for every liberal agenda like gun control and castle doctrine laws. ignoring the fact that as gun laws were repealed or eased in society, crime went down, liberals try to attach a better economy to the crime reduction, which just isn't true.
between my freedom and the life of someone who would unlawfully take it.........gee, tough choice. yeah, i'm going with my freedom over the unlawful actions of a moron who thinks the weight of his badge makes him untouchable.
Whilst disagreeing a lot with you on some issues, I find your views on this particular point to be very close to my own. Police have to be accountable for their actions, they do not get a free pass otherwise you end up with a police state. By the way, I love that expression badge blower.
STY and Rune are on opposite sides of the political spectrum, yet you choose to ignore their common concerns.![]()
times are hard all over, and getting worse. I'm glad to know that your 'real' stuff to think about doesn't include protecting yourself. please, do us all a favor and wear a sign around your neck that says you have no intention of defending yourself, so commit any crime on me you'd like.
And the same could be said for any number of other occurrences. But that doesn't stop you from preparing for them.
the USSC says that I have the right to use any reasonable force to resist an unlawful arrest, even including lethal force.well, in this particular instance, YOU are the someone who would unlawfully take life.....and you claim the right to do so to protect yourself from charges of resisting arrest.......that doesn't make you a winner, dude....
you have your head up your ass, apparently. the USSC has made it well known that law enforcement is not responsible for protecting your life, nor are they liable for failure to do so.all three of you are in different directions on other issues, but it doesn't change the fact that all three of you are advocating the murder of public employees who've signed on to protect you from criminals who want to murder you......
so you apparently DO think there's a possibility of someone actually attempting to kill you. See? I knew you could see things my way.I'd be doing you a favor if I attempted to purposefully get myself murdered?
A rage-filled hater. Exactly the type I want stockpiling weapons. And exactly the type who always does.
Maybe it doesn't stop you, but I have real stuff to do. I don't waste my time worrying or preparing for events that are unlikely to occur. To each their own.
you just said up above that you do worry about it. so you're lying then, right?
then you obviously have a comprehension problem. I said "please, do us all a favor and wear a sign around your neck that says you have no intention of defending yourself, so commit any crime on me you'd like.", and you jumped to the wild ass conclusion that this is me wishing you'd be murdered? the ONLY two reasons you'd jump to that is 1) you're attempting to twist the meaning of my words in to your advantage, which you failed, or 2) you DO have a fear of someone trying to murder you because you immediately jumped to that conclusion.I didn't say I was worried about it, i commented on your written wish that I would walk around and try to get myself murdered.
Who's the liar?
And further, you have some nerve accusing me of attacking you after what you said. LOL What a jerk. Look in the mirror rageman.

what is that I said that struck a nerve?
the USSC says that I have the right to use any reasonable force to resist an unlawful arrest, even including lethal force.
but let's ask you this.....
you say it's wrong for me to use lethal force in resisting an unlawful arrest, but is it ok for a police officer to use lethal force to effect an unlawful arrest?
I said "please, do us all a favor and wear a sign around your neck that says you have no intention of defending yourself
let me see....I have to choose between you using lethal force or a trained police officer using force......okay, I've made my decision........you lose.....
do you wear a sign that says you intend to kill any police officer that attempts to arrest you?.......
