2016 - Presidental Race...

It's what she said in her memoir and she seemed pretty emphatic about it.

Interesting. I know it is a LONG way away but listening to some folks it almost seems like a forgone conclusion that she'll run. You'd have to think she'd be the leading candidate is she chose to. When she leaves her current position (I don't think anyone can do that job eight years in a row, it would kill you) what do you think she'll do?

I'd like to see a Sandoval-Rubio ticket, although Rubio-Paul is a bit more realistic. Christie is too much of a liability. For the Democrats, I'd consider supporting a Bayh-Warner ticket. It would be nice to have a "third way" moderate in the White House again, as that is generally when we see the best results. I'd also like to see the leadership in both parties replaced with a younger generation.

Hillary won't run.

I do think Mark Warner will run, though. My dream race would be Warner vs. Rubio - two fine, qualified candidates. It would be the first election in which I'd be a truly undecided voter for a good portion of the campaign season.

This, IMHO, is where the GOP still doesn't get it. The fact that Rubio has a hispanic last name does not mean, that outside of Florida he will garner a great deal of support from other groups in the hispanic community. Here in the southwest, lots of people of Mexican heritage this is is bullshit that a Cuban need only touch feet to dry land and they cannot be deported. Also, when I mentioned Rubio to one of the Hispanic Republican leaders in this part of the state he said that was the problem with the Republican party, that they think just putting a spanish sounding candidate on the ballot will get Hispanics to flock to vote for that person.

I would hope no one in the Republican Party would think putting someone with a Hispanic sounding name alone is going to win over Hispanic voters. Rubio is obviously going to have to prove he's worthy of the party's nomination and worthy of leading the country. A last name alone doesn't do that. That being said if Rubio is able to show he has the necessary leadership qualities and is able to speak to all voters but especially able to reach minority voters then I'm fully behind him.

This early front runners rarely win!

If it's not Hillary Clinton, then God help us. I honestly have no idea who else in the Democratic party could take up the banner. Biden? Jesus Christ. We'd lose so hard, they could run Santorum or Bachmann if they wanted to. Clinton is the candidate we *should* have run last time, we'd be stupid to go with anyone else this time around. And she'd practically be a lock, we'd easily hold the presidency until 2024.

Third way moderate? That's what Obama is. We haven't had a liberal in the white house for nearly a fucking century. I would love a fucking liberal, the DINO's need to be thrown out of the fucking party.

Well, Rubio is not the son of a Cuban refugee, his parents came here before the revolution trying to find a job. That doesn't keep him from claiming that he's the son of a Cuban refugee, but whatever.

No, President Obama is an ideologue. This is supported by his history - it is undeniable. Do you think Obama would have worked with a Republican Congress to pass welfare reform, as Clinton did in the 90s? The very notion is laughable.

Now, whether he will govern as a third way moderate in his 2nd term is up for debate. I predict that he will move considerably to the center. Working from the center generally leads to the best results, and President Obama will want to leave a legacy that is satisfying to the majority of Americans. Obama wants to be liked - one reason the "2016" theory that Obama is on a mission destroy/diminish the country is so idiotic. President Obama cares about the country. For this reason, I believe he'll shift to the center.
