2nd Amendment Conversation from the Defund thread

Why should I ever believe any right-winger regardless of circumstances; when our Second Amendment is clear?

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

That excludes the unorganized militia.
There is no such thing as an 'unorganized militia'. Obviously, you don't know what 'militia' means or where the word comes from.
Subject only to the police power, the right of the individual citizen to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. (Illinois State Constitution)
Nope. The Constitution of the United States prevails.

I think Tv stations should show the bodies of the victims of shootings. We make it antiseptic, more like TV or movie violence. People should see what it looks like. They would be disgusted. But it would be realism.
I've seen it. A shooting happened right in front of me in a college cafeteria. THAT sure put people off their lunch!

The shooter is dead. Another guy pulled his gun and fired before I could. I didn't kill him, the other fellow did.
The victim survived, but required extensive surgery to repair the damage. She has fully recovered now. She was glad people were there to stop the shooter.

I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials."

Maybe he doesn't know what 'people' means. After all, there are a lot of people today that can't define what a 'women' is either.
These morons are really fucked up.
Projection is what right-wingers are Best at.

Can you define Arms?
A weapon. Any kind of weapon.
What arms were available at the time the 2nd amendment was written?
Fully automatic guns, semiautomatic guns, cannon, tanks, pikes, swords, bow and arrow, crossbow, single shot and multishot pistols (including the infamous 'duckfoot' pistol!), rifles, mines, bombs, rockets, saps and knuckles, daggers, war hammers, maces, clubs, axes, knives of various sizes, poisons, grenades, ...... shall I go on?
Nuclear Weapons are arms, aren't they?
Yes.
So, based on the 2nd Amendment wording, do you think people should have the right to keep and bear nuclear weapons?
Yes.

Really? Enlighten us! How would you personally use Nuclear Weapons if you could own them and use them?

Would you use them to slay a deer perhaps?

Slaying a deer is not self defense.

As for self defense using nuclear weapons, perhaps you should ask the federal government why they build them.

George Mason is wrong (assuming he actually said this).
The term 'militia' is Latin in origin. It has always meant 'of the military' or 'soldiers'. It is an army. It has never meant 'citizen'.

Isn't right-wing fantasy wonderful? Our Second Amendment is clear, not implied in any way.
