4 in 10 now say socialism would be good for US: Gallup poll

Maybe, but words change over time. After the GOP and Fox News spent eight years calling Obama a Socialist, most Americans now think any government regulations that help the working-class are Socialism.
So if you say you want Democratic Socialism, people know what you mean. The word has evolved and now means something like Nordic economics.

Not according to the Democratic Socialists of America, of which some congresspeople are members. Even they know the difference between Social democracy and democratic socialism.

Yet those Scandinavian countries that you admire are moving away from the cradle to grave welfare model. There is no way on Earth that the high taxes of Scandinavia would be tolerated in the US, the consensus in Europe is breaking down due in part to high immigration and the resultant deliterious effect on the Welfare State.

Sadly, yes. A country can't have both a welfare state and mass immigration, but Europe has made the idiotic decision to attempt both.
The good news is many right-wing Nationalist parties in Europe are still pretty left-wing and are making the argument that they need to close the borders so that they can maintain their welfare state.

It isn't a dichotomy, you don't have to pick one or the got to pick one or the other, in fact, there doesn't exist a pure capitalist nor socialist economy in the world, all nations have a mixed economy, the US has been partially socialist since the 19th Century

No they have not.

I guess that also means 4 in 10 are ahistorical idiots.
More than likely, 4 in 10 are Midwest farmers who see that trump's brand of capitalism isn't working. In fact, they're all in line with their hands out for round two of Socialism handouts

Is that it? And she doesn't want the property laws this site is talking about. She just wants regulations.

Sorry. Rashida Tlaib is another. They're members of the Democratic Socialists of America. I'm not saying their views are a direct 1-to-1 ratio.

Fact? How can it be a fact when you don't even have a basic understanding of either economic philosophy? Too much Hannity, too little thinking on your own

So you dont think it is fact that AOC is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America?

I don't care what she is, I don't have the fixation, why do you?

I don't have a fixation. That's just another lie on your part, something you picked up from the opinion writers at the WaPo, who do most of your thinking for you.

I don't care what she is, I don't have the fixation, why do you?

What it is the left ? Did not agree with Obama? You are a racist. Do not agree with AOC? You are fixated. When will you dunces get it through your head people just do not agree with their policies. That is it. And falling back on the race card and whatever other lame thing you can fall back on because you cannot argue your point is, well, boring.

It is kind of strange that they're members, but I don't think that's enough to say we're going to get any form of collective ownership anytime soon. When that becomes a talking point in mainstream politics, even if it's just among the them, then I'll say it's a possibility.

It's also worth mentioning that what this site describes is very different from what the Soviet Union had. It seems like they want to bring democracy to businesses.

Check out this video. I'm not saying I agree with it, but it makes an interesting argument.
