$7.25 an hour is not a living wage (Well Duh?!!)

And raising he min doesn't cause any notable economic harm!

Yes it does; it decrease opportunity for first time job seekers, high school teens and college level students. In addition, it results in lower employment due to automation that becomes more economically feasible as the costs of doing business are arbitrarily increased.

But alas, you're a dimwit Liberal who has the grammar of a third grader, the intelligence of a sewer rat and the comprehension of a lemming; how could we expect facts to have an impact on someone so woefully incapable of dealing with reality, facts or the truth.

THIS IS YOUR BRAIN ON STUPID; DON’T DO STUPID

For dimwit leftist who are too lazy to use internet search engines on their own:

The case against raising the minimum wage is straightforward: A higher wage makes it more expensive for firms to hire workers. How big an effect does this have on the job market? Economists debate this. But no one argues that increasing the minimum wage increases the number of unemployed workers who find jobs. In the end, the trade-off is clear. People who keep their jobs get more money; those who lose their jobs, or fail to get new ones, suffer.

.....

Research published in 2010 by economists Joseph Sabia and Richard Burkhauser concluded that if the federal minimum wage were increased from $7.25 an hour to $9.50 an hour (remember that the president's proposal is to increase the minimum wage to $9 per hour), only 11.3% of workers who would gain from the increase belong to poor households.

.....

The case for a higher minimum wage grows even weaker when you stop to consider that there are vastly superior alternatives for steering money to low-income households. For example, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has found that expanding the earned income tax credit is a much more efficient way to fight poverty than increasing the minimum wage.

.....

One reason public officials continue to embrace such a bad idea is that it's popular, and thus can provide an opportunity to score political points. The last time we had this debate, it was President George W. Bush who signed a minimum-wage increase into law. The fact that even a Republican president did so shows just how tempting this policy is to politicians.

.....

Why not support increasing the minimum wage? Because it will make it more expensive for businesses to hire young and low-skill workers at a time of crisis-level unemployment. Because it will not alleviate poverty. Because there are much better alternatives to help poor families, and because the minimum wage is a dishonest approach that hides the true cost of the policy.

Your poor you thin min wage matters
I get 150,000 tax breaks annually, I know it doesn't matter

That is why if the minimum wage is changed it should be done on a state level, not federal. Cost of living is also higher in DC/Cali/NY etc... funny how that works.

Regardless, changing the minimum wage is just a feel food for liberals. It doesn't change the plight of the 'poor'. They may make more money, but that simply leads to them paying more for goods and services. Deliberately inflating wages doesn't change purchasing power. It simply gives more dollars to the poor and lowers the amount a dollar can buy.

Hey Stupid Freak, the minimum wage is done at the state level and the federal level, the federal level is the minimum but any state can raise it higher if their cost of living is higher or if they simply want to raise it. Some states have a minimum wage closer to $10 an hour while states in the South would rather not even be required to pay anything like the $7.25 an hout bare minimum.

Sorry to inform you but purchasing power has already been eroded, in fact, it is repeatedly shown that the minimum wage has not kept up with inflation and its purchasing power is far less than it was when last raised. So both or your arguments are stupid and fallacious. I guess that is why they call you Stupid Freak isn't it?

Minimum wage fast-food jobs were viewed as jobs for teenagers or beginners’ jobs. Obama has made these 'beginners jobs' the only jobs left in his failing economy.

Siggy, being a pinhead hooked on cartoons, doesn't get the point of Stormx's post....

McDonald's started out in 1940 and BK in the early '50s. Pretty sure the jobs weren't pitched to teenagers.

Oh look, the troll thinks he is intelligent. Funny little troll. Next time try learning to comprehend what you read, that will save you from looking so foolish.
