Almost no one in America understands the Chinese, nor what they are up to.

The Chinese however have made a very detailed study of us, and our weaknesses, willful ignorance being one of the big ones.

She holds the purse strings for foreign aid and military assistance to Taiwan and other countries, and she is second-in-line to be President of the United States.

She is arguably the second most important leader in the American government by constitutional authority.

That is more than enough justification for her to meet with foreign leaders.

i do. but a diplomatic visit is not a violation of realpolitik,in that we have an interest in checking China's expansionism,and a free Taiwan
China has been making very agressive moves toward "reunification",and a diplomatic show of support is just fine

And Russia didn't just decide to invade Ukraine for fun,they were "provoked" as well

My bottom line is a free western Pacific is essential, to not just Taiwan but challenging Chinese "9 dash line" claims as well

As toUkraine..who cares what border it has? it's of absolutely no concern to the USA
If Europe wants to handle it -it's their situation

Yes, let’s talk about Ukraine. You think Xi isn’t taking notes on that situation? If Uk is of no strategic importance to us and as dysfunctional their government is, yet we help in their fight for liberty , then Xi will understand that we’ll go further in support of RoC. Much further.
