To get an arrest warrant and an indictment, a prosecutor must introduce evidence into a court of law.
I guess he could have tried to drag the kid's body into the house, and broken a window or something. That would have left a lot of physical evidence of the murder, but it is clear that the police were searching for a way to clear Byrd, not to convict him.Byrd made a rookie mistake.

I made a mistake, which I openly admit. I confused Byrd with Lester. It appears that TA made the mistake, and I piggy backed on him.
Lester, the old man who shot a kid for ringing his doorbell, would have faced a real problem in murdering the kid, and trying to hide all the evidence. That being said, he is white, and may well have gotten away with it.

They had plenty of warning that what they were doing was violent and wrong. Had it been me, I'd have given the order to open fire and mow down the first row of terrorists and traitors. Anyone who stepped over their bodies would have met the same fate.

From what I have heard, and my general sense of the man, Lester seems like an old hateful racist, who hates everyone, even his own family, but hates Blacks even more. That is not enough to go to court with, but he is definitely guilty of attempted murder.
We just need to be sure he is never free again, and that others learn it is not OK to shoot some kid for just being Black.
Notice that all the MAGAts on JPP defending Lester are similar to him; misogynistic, racist and in a lot of pain. My guess is that most, if not all, are alone. Either divorced or feeling they've been abandoned in a retirement facility for medical or psychological reasons.
Arrests don't need a 'warrant'.
Evidence is not required for an indictment. An indictment is not a conviction.
