Actually, you are both wrong, or mostly wrong. You are going to claim a technicality that makes you mostly wrong, but not completely wrong.
Modelo Beer sold in America is owned by Constellation Brands, not InBev. Because of antitrust issues, InBev was not allowed to sell Modelo Beer in the USA, so the US brand was sold to Constellation Brands. So US sold Modelo Beer is owned by a completely different company than Mexican sold Modelo Beer.
Modelo Beer, whether it is owned by Constellation Brands or InBev, is made in Mexico, and gets jobs for Mexicans. They have separate breweries, but all in Mexico. They are heavily tilted towards Mexican agriculture.
So you are just supporting a shift from American farmers to Mexican farmers?

Singapore has a per capita GDP about four times higher than Malaysia. It is like comparing the USA to Mexico.
And at least Malaysian farmers are part of the economy. Subsistence farmers are so poor it is hard to even calculate how poor they are. The reason so many posters say how they would become subsistence farmers, but are not actually subsistence farmers, is because being a subsistence farmer involves a level of poverty that is hard to imagine.
