One thing communists always traded on was that even if the overall economy shrinks, you can still increase the majority of people prosperity in a very uneven economy. If the upper 10% have 90% of the money, and the economy shrinks by 50%, with the money being completely evenly distributed, then 90% of the people just saw their income go up 4.5 fold. 90% of the people will consider you a great leader, which is a good number.
Xi is hoping for that effect. He is hoping his policies to shrink Chinese poverty will make him loved by the Chinese, whatever happens to the rest of the economy.
It is too early to tell for sure.
So, Hawkeye is definitely wrong, and Ladyboy might be right or might be wrong.
But Singapore has no farms, which you claim are the most important part of the economy, so why would they want to live there?

I could be wrong but my understanding is those who stopped drinking Bud Light largely switched to Coors Light and Miller Light, they did not start drinking Modelo. Coors and Miller are American owned companies and brew their beer in America to my understanding.
So this whole argument by the OP is for naught.

actually since the price of grain didn't drop I guess no one cost the farmers anything.......maybe because whoever produced the beer that replaced Buddy's a Bit Light had to buy grain to produce the replacement.......

Uh-oh Walt. I'm copying from a post from a frustrated fan on our 'SC board, frustrated over our piss poor performance and how the lack of involvement/energy from our fans. I'm not copying the whole thing, just a relevant section:
"There did seem to be some generational divides, but maybe not the one people might think. Older folks (I'm one) just wanted to watch the game as if it were on TV. I tried yelling on some 3rd down defensive snaps, but nobody around me joined in. Middle-aged fans seemed mostly concerned with bringing Modelos, etc. back from the concession stands. Younger attendees seemed to treat the game as a festival, visiting with friends (often mixed groups from both schools) and taking multiple selfies, etc. Events on the field had little effect on them. TBH, I was jealous."
Everybody is an individual of course but based on what the data shows, college educated people in Los Angeles are far more likely to vote Democratic than Republican. So your fellow liberals are causing you to have to pay higher taxes. Welcome to the dark side Walt in joining those who call for lower taxes.
