They've been getting them. Arbitrary wage laws do not increase anyone's living standards. They merely cause inflationary pressures that wipe out any temporary gain.

Simple question. I have traced my lineage back to the 1400's, and the earliest ancestor to the US was after the Civil War was over. Am I liable to pay reparations, in your opinion?
 
The Right Thing(s) which should have been done many decades ago. A change that would have affected things for the better and not only for one group of people but for everyone, equally. That is the initial problem certain groups did not and do not want to see certain things change for the betterment of everyone. And that still stands to date.
 
At this point, most white people who clearly have benefited from the institutions, that racism and bigotry has created for them, like economic and educational success can't see themselves outside of that comfortable prism/bubble! In other words, they fear losing everything that their ancestors created and provided for them here in America and they desperately don't want that to happen, by any means!!!
