Europe and the U.S. will remain allies. Our friendship isn’t in jeopardy, so the paranoia might be misplaced. On Russia, I agree. They’re pushing for a closer relationship, and I’m open to it. What’s striking, though, is how the media ignores Zelensky’s authoritarian streak. He canceled elections in May, silenced dissent, and just banned another political party. These aren’t the moves of a democrat. They’re the hallmarks of a petty dictator drunk on power. Is he really a better partner than Russia or China? I’m not convinced. There is a pretty big re-alignment taking place right now.
We have our contractual obligations through NATO (for now) - but we're no longer a friend to Europe, and I'm fairly sure they don't consider us as that.
Meanwhile, Russia is positioning to have a stronger relationship w/ us since Friday.
It's a pretty radical change.
Are you ok with the US giving him one, committing our troops if it comes to it. If so, why? Why would we ever do anything like that. If anyone should, it would be the actual neighbors that would theoretically be in danger from Putin, not us.He had no deal, all Trump is promising is a “deal,” no specifics, just meet with Putin and accepted a “deal,” Zelensky has experience on how Putin keeps promised “deals,” he wants some kind of guaranteed security
Everybody I listen to thinks that Europe will continue to do as they are told, but they are having trouble dealing with the reality that Project Europe failed.....they are an outpost of the Imperial Empire.Europe and the U.S. will remain allies. Do you feel the same way about China?I'd prefer us to follow a moral course.
I have nothing against the Russian people - but Putin is the classic mass-murderer tyrant. I do believe there are consequences associated when we align with immoral leaders & causes.
I support continuing to support the Ukraine. But if we decide not to, I would hope it doesn't mean we shift our alliance to Russia. Obviously, it helps Russia if we back off on the Ukraine, but they should never be considered a friend or ally while Putin is in charge.
Do you feel the same way about China?
Russia does not want to own Ukraine....they want the abuse of Russian speakers in Ukraine to end, and they want peace, they want the end of NATO aggression against them.Ah, three years ago Putin invaded the Ukraine, so you tell us they should have accepted Putin owning the Ukraine was their “good outcome?”
Right, Putin wants peace, tell that to the people in Georgia, Moldova, and the Ukraine whose hospitals he bombed, schools he droned, and homes he leveledRussia does not want to own Ukraine....they want the abuse of Russian speakers in Ukraine to end, and they want peace, they want the end of NATO aggression against them.
Will they? Why? If the US can’t be trusted, why would they look elsewhere to build relationships?Europe and the U.S. will remain allies. No one, especially Zelensky, is opposed to a deal to end the war, however, after the world has seen how Putin honors deals, any deal will have to have some sense of security for the UkrainiansAre you ok with the US giving him one, committing our troops if it comes to it. If so, why? Why would we ever do anything like that. If anyone should, it would be the actual neighbors that would theoretically be in danger from Putin, not us.
Then there's the fact that little man is fast becoming a full-fledged power-hungry dictator of the most corrupt nation in the world. He's cancelling elections, shutting down decent, and he just cancelled and strip the assets of an opposition party. So what would be ideal in your opinion?
I'll assume you meant 'wouldn't they.' They won't because this is where the big money is and always has been. There is a lot of money made by very important people in all of the countries in the EU. They might not like it, but they need us more than we need them. Trump is the first one to use that powerful reality to our benefit. Will they? Why? If the US can’t be trusted, why would they look elsewhere to build relationships?
The deal little man was here to sign wasn't designed to appease Putin. Quite the opposite. It was designed to force his hand. If we are business partners mining important REM's we need, any attempt to invade again would be a direct act of war on us. It's very simple and very smart for both us and Ukraine. That's why little man's own ambassador was so upset at his behavior along with the poor bastards on the front line. And as I said, every President going back to Reagan has sought to establish closer ties to Putin and learned quickly Putin is a killer. Appeasing him now will only lead to his further aggression down the road
LOL or should I cry that people so naive are voters in America? I wonder if elections have ever happened in Ukraine in wartime before? I wonder what the American press would say if we decided not to have elections when at war?And Zelensky is fighting a war for the existence of his country, he doesn’t have time to stop everything and have an election, which was postponed not cancelled via Ukrainian law. Lincoln declared Martial Law in border States during the Civil War, Wilson exported radicals, and FDR interned Americans, life alters during major wars especially if you are fighting for your existence
The security is that we'll be there mining. That's all they need. If little man doesn't think so, he shouldn't have come to sign the deal. We certainly don't owe him securities. This little dumbass is acting like someone owes him security. Why is this?No one, especially Zelensky, is opposed to a deal to end the war, however, after the world has seen how Putin honors deals, any deal will have to have some sense of security for the Ukrainians
RFK explained very nicely who the villain is in this whole thing. Let me give you a hint, it's not Russia.Ah, three years ago Putin invaded the Ukraine, so you tell us they should have accepted Putin owning the Ukraine was their “good outcome?”
We know, we know, the Red Hat Club thinks the Ukraine invaded Russia and Zelensky is a dictatorRFK explained very nicely who the villain is in this whole thing. Let me give you a hint, it's not Russia.
Take an honest look at this and comment. We know, we know, the Red Hat Club thinks the Ukraine invaded Russia and Zelensky is a dictator
How is “being there” security? The security is that we'll be there mining. That's all they need. If little man doesn't think so, he shouldn't have come to sign the deal. We certainly don't owe him securities. This little dumbass is acting like someone owes him security. Why is this?
The Ukrainian people have always been proud people that don't ask for handouts like this little dictator does, only he's not even asking, he's acting like we owe it to him. It's completely ridiculous.
If any should help Ukraine obviously it should be the EU much more than us. But as I've laid out, he has become no better than Putin is, so at this point why should we give a shit who we make a deal with?
First off, the need for Russia to secure a border buffer zone is ludicrous, that was the excuse they offered when they invaded all those Eastern European nationsTake an honest look at this and comment.
