After ???? years of the republican rule and the accomplishments were economic collapse, an illegal invasion that killed thousands and wasted billions, a collapsing infrastructure, and a failure to help our own citizens in Katrina. Oh, sorry forgot the real accomplishments: increases in poverty, debt, unemployment, but the wealthy got tax breaks. Good work.

But the irony is given the above facts, many still kowtow to big money and corporate power. Bush Jr proved once and for all reduced taxes don't help, but the conservatives still believe. America lost her soul sometime in the seventies and especially since Reagan, it is hard to say how far the bottom half will need to fall before they vote and act again for each other. But the choices for voting as '10 proved are often deceptions and just more money worshipers.

Don't feel to sorry for the bottom. Their the dumb mother fuckers who voted for idiots like Bush in the first place.

At least the Republicans work to formulate a conhesive message and they clearly and consistantly communicate that message of who they are and what they stand for and then work hard to represent their base, even if they are far rightwing looney tunes.

The Democrats on the other hand take for the votes of moderates, minorities, liberals, labor unions and most any sane person for granted and answer to big money. As long as Democrats constituency permit them to take their votes for granted Democrats in office will continue to not represent their interest. Democrats have a huge strategic advantage over Republicans by just simply representing the economic interest of the middle classes which is an advantage they fail over and over again to represent and simply take for granted. Ultimately you get the government you deserve and until the middle and working classes take back the streets the politicians of this nation will continue to shit all over them.

Well correspondingly whats good for the middle class isn't best for everyone. It would be preaching mediocrity and limiting success to the lowest common factor.

Here's a novel idea Moot: treat everyone the same. Po' folk pay the same percentage as the middle class, who pay the same percentage as the rick folk. That way everyone has skin in the game, and everyone has the incentive to keep the government small and efficient, instead of huge and bloated.

Man your dense. How many times to you have to go over this argument. Those who control 90% of the wealth should pay 90% of the taxes. Now that's fair and your idea of small efficient government has never born out. All your type do is preach small government and then give us even fucking bigger, more invasive and intrusive government that is also corrupt and incompetent. Taking the same percentage of a poor person's income and a wealthy person's income is not treating everyone the same. The actual dollars left over or lack of dollars left over can adversely affect the poor person.

Should any portion of a poor person's income be used to erect a statue in a park when they can't afford to put food on the table? Should any portion of a poor person's income be used to protect wildlife when they can't afford proper dental care for their children?

From Interstate Highways to sidewalks in a small town do you believe a poor person should contribute to those things while being unable to afford medical care?

An equal percentage is only fair if everyone earned an equal income.
